This is one of the worst fan comics I've ever read. The art is terrible, the characters are atrociously OOC, the dialogue is ridiculously hammy and it beats the reader over the head mercilessly with its moral on ever single page.
And yet, I keep reading it. Why? Because it's so bad it's good. How can you not love a comic that fails so hard but still tries its hardest to be good? It's like The Room, but with an extremely obnoxious moral and ponies, and as we all know ponies make everything better (even when they look more like crudely-drawn llamas). :) |

I've liked this comic so far but now its getting just a mite too anvilicious. I mean there probably are actual people who acts like this towards gays, but it is getting into that anvily territory. I still want to see what happens though. |

^^To be fair, Bon-Bon and Lyra have both spoken, though they're not really consistent "characters."
Though you could make the argument that they're all sitting like Lyra. Personally I think it goes beyond even that and they look like people in creepily detailed fursuits. |

They may not have much canon personality to go on, however in terms of the character of MLP itself, they are definitely out of character. Have we ever seen anyone in the world of MLP act the way the characters in this comic do? Everyone is either a strawman gay hater or an author avatar.
I'm fine with fiction that takes the show's characters and has them deal with things that might be a little bit too "grown up" for the show's target audience, however it is possible to take it too far. This comic took the Grayhound Bus several towns further than too far a long time ago. However, I can understand why some people would enjoy it for the camp value-- this comic is so anvilicious that you could see it as a source of humor, as long as you can get past seeing so many well-liked characters being destroyed in the process. |

@964: I would be shocked if this story DOESN'T go in that direction, given how anvilicious it's been so far. We've already established that everyone who does not approve of their forbidden love is evil, so the next logical moral is to say anyone who does not approve of homosexuality is themself gay. That's the kind of draconian logic that this story operates on, and I'd actually be disappointed if it turned out to be something more "fair" like "Lyra is only saying that because her dad left her and her mom for another guy and she never got over it." |

@607: I am more in for "Bon Bon is straight but says she is gay for Lyra just to creep Lyra out enough to make her run away, so Vinyl and Tavi don't have to put up for Lyra's shit", but if I had to choose, I'd go for "Bon Bon epically bitch-slaps Lyra and says no one have to put up for her shit, leaving Lyra(and the whole freakin' planet) shocked".
@901: Honestly, the only "well-liked character being destroyed" in the story so far is Lyra(and even then, she seems just fine apart from the homophoby), Vinyl and Tavi are fine, Bon Bon didn't have enough lines to judge, all other important characters are OCs. @171: There is a huge difference between "aprove" and "condems it completelly", both characters that don't seem to aprove the situation(Lyra and Lady Von Clef) treat it as if it was the worse sin imaginable, if Lyra just said "Look, I don't like the idea, I find the whole concept squicky and I personally can't say I aprove it, but it is your life and you two should just live it as you think it is right"(or something along those lines), Vinyl and Tavi would just be happy it didn't start a whole war(like, y'now, it did). The only two morals I saw in this comic so far are "You can't decide your son's/daughter's life" and "Homophobia is bad, very, very bad", neither of which are bad ones, but I do agree it hits on then(specially the latter) too much. |
