If she gets pissed then shes got mistaken priorities. If the artist who created any artwork is properly credited, then generating publicity for an artists artwork is only a good thing. In fact its essential for an artists development because it gives the artist a way to gain recognition for his/her talents, while giving that person increased feedback from another community of art-lovers.
Artists should only outraged if someone attempts to steal their art, or if the original creator is not given credit. Having your art shared is very much a good thing for the career of any artist and getting pissed about someone sharing and enjoying art is very much working against her own self-interest. If it comes up, then I'll talk to her. |

Hello everypony.
I'm Sepia Lace. As in, THE Sepia Lace. I was really surprised to see my notifications page on DA go crazy today - I don't usually get more than 1-2 faves a day. To set the record straight, what CaravanPalace says is right. I don't mind people sharing artwork as long as the proper source is credited - although in my part of the world it's culture to ask first. However, I'm not that much of a stickler for things like that, so in short, I approve of this. I don't see how someone can steal my crap anyway. It's painted stroke for stroke - I'd like to see someone reproduce that without tearing our their hair in the process. And last but not least, yes, Meteor gave me the idea AND Danger Zone. I suppose this picture exists because of this pony. *Pause* ... Yay. |
