Humans much like robots are programmed to believe they are self aware and sentient. As long as one can quote one phrase to themselves and understand it's true meaning they are sentient.
Cogito Ergo Sum. Or in english. I think there for I am. If scootabot can understand this meaning then she is sentient. Even if it was programed in. If there is a data error or something. She's not sentient. Just like if a human or any living creature heard this statement or said it themselves they are not sentient no matter how popular they are. Don't worry Scootabot, you are sentient and do have feelings. Programming has nothing to do with it. Despite being a robot, you are alive. Even "Fleshies" are just robots buit out of self-repairable organic materials. |
