Maybe it's more of a 'It's more forbidden, therefore more exciting to talk about thing'. I'm a girl and I don't think anyone would really care if I told them I was a brony or not. Whereas if I was a guy there'd be a big controversy over being 'unmanly'. |

The people I know in real life that like the show that are adults are 2 women for ever 1 man that are fans, so I don't see it as true, it's just seems that way. |

Women generally don't spend as much time pouring over message boards for geekery as males do. There are a lot of female adult MLP fans out there, but they don't necessarily express it the same way we do. |

There are a lot of females fans (even more if you count the true demographic:little girls)
A lot of males just like to shout and scream about something they like (funny just like a lot of females as well)and ponies happen to be one of those things. Is just this whole stupid thing about the supposed ''controversy'' of a man liking girly/womanly shows.Of course the male fans would get a bit more attention from someone who´s new to the fandom or when some kind of media who´s not familiar with it.Women have been loving franchises with boys as it´s target demographic for years so it must be something natural for them. Also,like Anon037 said,a lot of them don't frequent or spend a lot of time over those kind of boards. They seem to be more into Forums or blogs. |
