Being made by Hasbro doesn't automatically (more like Autobotically, am I right?) make it a quality show. While I love the transformers franchise, this cartoon is kind of dumb. |

Hated the movies; particularly 2. Did not see 3 but from what I hear it's about the same only more so.
Never watched the 80s cartoon. I think Prime is ok. Not a show I would regularly watch but I don't hate it. |

Transformers Animated is pretty much comparable to MLP in story quality, despite a couple annoying factors...
Transformers and MLP are basically a sibling rivalry as far as I'm concerned in the MLP and Transformers fandoms. Some folks take it too far, but ehe, I have no lost love for either fandom despite it. P.S. Pinkie Pie is best Autobot |

Loved Beast Wars as a kid, but I don't know if it still holds up. They promised it on Netflix so I'll give it another go when they release it. I only saw a little bit of Prime, looks all right. |

I like Transformers a lot. I don't like it as much as I like GI Joe, and I'm not as obsessed about it as I am about MLP, but I still love the franchise. I even like the movies (except for 2-- it was just too noisy, confusing and indulgent, but I still own it and will watch it occasionally as part of the trilogy). The toys are a lot of fun, too. |

If you don't care for the story, the Transformer movies are fun. It's just M.Bay isn't a story teller, he's movie maker. Battleship is great. Story, bah! Let's sink that mofo's ships!
Bay should just stick to movie versions of old toys/games. Go nuts, Real Steal (not Bay, but...) proved that stuff can work. What I want to see is Michael Bay presents:  |

It was actually thanks to the success of the Transformers revival that Hasbro decided to give My Little Pony one too. So it's thanks to Transformers we got Friendship is Magic in the first place. |

@getteremperor3 yeah... those are people who like G1 Transformers and feel Michael Bay screwed up the movies. Or are just general trolls, who'd also post 'MLP sucks' here if they figured it'd get the same response.
Personally, Bay's Transformers is one of so many reboots for the Transformers franchise I sorta don't consider it's existence a life or death issue. Hell, Optimus pretty much means 'will die for our sins' these days, Beast Wars killed him, G1 killed him (3 times), Bay killed him... I think he died in Armada once too... There have been no less than 10 reboots of Transformers in various forms. Some good, some bad... Those that hate it, may have only seen the bad ones (which varies per individual taste, save Transformers 2 by Michael Bay, which itself suffered from the writer's strike at the time.) |
