OP is saying that alicorns are all three races as one, which is why on the show, they never ever said the term alicorn. Even on the first episode, the narrator called Luna a unicorn, and said that "the elder sister used her unicorn magic—" Alicorn is a term the team made up so they didn't have to say winged unicorn or horned pegasus.

2 months ago		 Lauren Faust had nothing to do with the creation of Cadance and was actually disappointed when she found out she was an alicorn.

Personally, I think I'd like it more if Cadance was just a unicorn, like Blueblood. It's not like it would change much anyway.

I liked that Candece was an alicorn; it was a subtle way of showing that just because you're an alicorn, that doesn't put you on the same level as Celestia. Hell, Candende was worried about three regular unicorns. Alicorns are just rare, like a person who can write with both hands equally.
