No it's doesn't, she just has a better written personality then most cartoon characters, real people have even most range to how they act with their personalities.

She's the main character and we see her most often, so it's not that she's got a bunch of personalities, we just see how she reacts in a lot of different, very hectic situations. Just like how it's hard to pin someone's personality in real life.

I think she's book smart, street dumb, with the good chance that she'll occasionally prove herself very capable at a task merely by having read about it.

Yes, she has a varied personality, just like any 3 dimensional character would. People get angry and happy and manic sometimes.

If by personality you mean "mood", then yes, I've noticed that she isn't always in the same mood and has a multi-faceted personality.

Isn´t that actually pretty normal? I mean, i have seen hundreds if not thousands of humans who suddenly act differently then i was used of them to act. Doesn´t that simple mean that Twi is the most written personality about in the show?

Frankly, she's an egghead with a OCD problem, and tends to get angry when confronted about it, or when things don't go according to plan.

Lacking social skills sometimes make her act a bit nerdy, but she still has a really caring personality, creating the "Adorkable" term.

She also doesn't like being abused or bothered so much, so she frowns a bit at RD and Pinkie.

Overall... She's a very, VERY well written character!

She's a dynamic character (along with the mane 6) and has a three-dimensional personality. I thought that was why we liked the show.

It's called writing a good character that changes her moods like a human would. These aren't one-note characters, which is why we like the show, right?

Yeah, these characters would be better if they reacted to every single thing that ever happens to them the exact same way all the time. Wait, that's fucking stupid? Yeah, it is.

That's because applejack is the straight man of the group. Shes supposed to be the most grounded of the characters personality wise.

Twilight is an intensely intelligent introvert, confident in her abilities but socially inexperienced.

She dislikes uncertainties and genuinely enjoys planning, scheduling and organizing things. Still, she can handle even the unexpected as long as she doesn't have the time to overthink things.

Also, she almost literally worships Celestia, and tends to go overboard in trying to live up to her own (fear-exaggerated) ideas of what the Princess expects of her.

A bit unfair to use Applejack as an example when she's had the least amount of focus than any of the Mane Six, and Twi the most.

@Mattatatta I agree,i always thought applejack was kinda bland compared to the rest of the mane 6,needs more applejack character development on season 3,but it was the only pony i could think of in the moment i wrote the comment.

She's been gradually developing. She was probably more level-headed in the beginning, now she tends to get stressed out (Lesson Zero and It's About Time, mostly, but it was showing up as early as Feeling Pinkie Keen). And she's been gradually getting more sociable - but that was kind of the purpose of the first two episodes. She's learning how to interact with friends.

I think her development has actually been fairly consistent as the series moves on.

^ I agree, but she is still quite mentally unstable. She actually has a hell of a lot of mental issues that has nearly endangered her friends, and a lot of blank spots in her common logic that HAS caused a lot of trouble, often leaving the most grounded like Applejack or Fluttershy to pick up the pieces, or leaving the most realist like Rainbow Dash to be the sense of reason.

And lets not forget her extremely unhealthy deity worship of Celestia. She has shown too often that she cannot function as a person if she does not live up to Celestia's expectations....

Somewhat related (potentially obvious) thought: Twilight acts rationally and uses deductive reasoning in "MMMMystery on the Friendship Express" yet one episode later she jumps to several conclusions that Cadænce is evil. Both "A Canterlot Wedding Part 1" and "Lesson Zero" show examples of Emotional overreaction caused by stress or perceived stress. She never over-reacts when her friends have a dilemma (ok, almost never: her reaction in "A Bird in the Hoof" could be one). One way to look at this: Despite all her awkwardness, she is better at helping her friends than helping herself (not that she can't do that, she's just adept at her element: Magic/Friendship.)

In Myers-Briggs personality typology, Twilight Sparkle is a fairly extreme INTJ type: strongly introverted, intuitive, thinking (as opposed to feeling), and judgmental (as opposed to perceiving).

INTJs, especially those with very pronounced I and T traits, tend to have a hard time dealing with people. They're so used to living in their inner world of thoughts, and have so little experience or understanding of emotions, that they have a hard time grasping other people's feelings and points of view. They appear standoffish at best, and condescending, arrogant jerks at the worst. And the exasperating thing about them is that they have no clue about the impression they make on others.

The idea that someone has to "study friendship" as if it were a college course sounds ridiculous, but for someone like Twilight Sparkle, it's not. She really has to make a conscious effort at it. Friendship simply isn't natural to her psychological makeup; it's something she has to force herself to do.
