Either everyone else is dead or she was left behind during the evacuation. Although the former is probably true, I doubt the elements would be misplaced, I doubt Celestia would forget her crown, and I doubt they wouldn't have gone back for her by now, not unless it was an incredibly hasty evacuation.

...Still sucks for Flutters. But in the words of Starscream... Sometimes, cowards do survive.

I don't even know what happened. And I'm the guy who's drawing these scenes! I just haven't had to address the question myself yet.

I will not say anything more than what is explained in the excerpts found along with these scenes. So here goes: Fluttershy doesn't know what has happened to all the other ponies. And while she searches the crumbling, abandoned ruins of places such as Ponyville, she hopes to either find somepony else, or at least learn what happened.

While finding the crowns and the Element of Magic without their owners is frighteningly unusual and quite disheartening to Fluttershy, she holds onto the fact that she cannot confirm that anypony is dead, so there is still a possibility that the ponies are still alive, just lost.

I'm simply drawing these scenes as and when I become inspired to. The story excerpts are written when I'm finished drawing, and are based on the images. So basically, the whole story is in fragments, completely out of order, and there are hundreds of questions that really should be answered at some point. As I draw more, I'll inadvertently weave together the gist of a tale, leaving blank spots for myself and others to speculate on, which can lead to me getting more ideas of scenes. I'm quite enjoying being free to speculate on a story that I'm actually creating.

There are only a couple of rules I have for myself, and those are to avoid 'on-screen' grimdark, and not straight-up kill Fluttershy. She could die, but that would fall under my "no 'on-screen' grimdark" rule (killing Fluttershy is so grimdark even FoE couldn't do it), so I'll never draw or write Fluttershy dying. Instead, scenes could be interpreted as a final scene, or they could be interpreted as a cliffhanger scene before something else happens. This is to allow the scenes to be arranged in almost any order, based on one's belief on how things happened chronologically.
