This was gonna be the start of a longer story, but I decided to publish this bit first so the next part isn't Neckbeard-levels of looooooong. It's gonna be Boomer's origin story, and explain why the owner is so fatherly, why Boomer is so emotionally attached to him, etc.

LordAnubis, it looks like you're planning on including more plot to this series instead of making it a series of vignettes? I'm interested in seeing where you're going with this! Definitely looking forward to the next part, particular since this part seems to end rather abruptly (which is understandable given that that it was originally intended to be part of a larger submission).
Since canonization of fluffies tends to vary widely one thing that will be interesting to see if/when we do get a flashback is how Boomer's cognitive faculties and personality developed over the course of his ownership. Again because ever author is different I don't know how intelligent you intend boomer to be compared to the average fluffy in your canon. Also of note in the ending there is that you used the phrase "was born" rather than something more generic like "first met" or etc. because it implies the owner was present for his birth. I'm wondering what angle you're going to approach that from. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your writing. Looking forward to more Boomer and more of the "Training your Fluffy" series as well. I still plan for it to be vignettes, and I doubt I'm going to have these Boomer stories lead up to some larger story. That might change though. Not in stone. It is pretty abrupt because, like with my story The Coward, what started as a brief aside for setting and context became a story in its own right. You're correct in that the owner was there for the birth. You'll see the significance of that next chapter. We'll probably occasionally look back to Boomer as a foal for more vignettes, such as potty training, his first stint in the Sorry Box, and other such tales. If that is the case, I'll note that he's still a foal so it isn't confusing. Gonna try to finish the next part tonight. Operative word being 'try.' It's been a busy day. |

Someone should do a story about training a fluffy to use the toilet with a step-ladder and a toilet seat designed for cats. The owner, of course, would have to wipe the fluffy's bottom for it. |

Someone did do something like that, actually. They made a potty that hung out of a window right above a dumpster. He then trained his fluffy to poop into the hole. |
