Oh my gosh, so I wasn't the only one who thought it looked off! (and just plain ugly) Thanks so much for analyzing and explaining it!
I can't really fault them for budget constraints, though people seem to be more lenient when western cartoons have to take short cuts but not so lenient when eastern shows have to take shortcuts. |

In my opinion, Shining looks more like an actual horse. |
