If it weren't clearly a Star Trek ship, this would be a terrible design for a warship. For Star Trek, however, it's actually pretty standard. |

Ship design aside, there is one unforgivable flaw... Starfleet has no weaponry that looks even REMOTELY like those cannons. Phasers are just strips or emitter nubs, and torpedo launchers are simple holes. None of that turrety cannon stuff. Just strips, nubs, and holes. |

actually the Soyuz class ship seen in 1 ep of TNG had those turrets its just still debated if there sencor or phaser cannon turrets and this is more like a Trek version of the Nebulon B from Star Wars with shuttle/fighter bays like on Battlestar Galactica |
