As much as I love the mane 6, I kind of like these designs better. Fluttershy makes much more sense as an earth pony, and pinkie makes more sense as a pegasi. I like Twi's current colorscheme more though, and her cutie mark now more. Firefly aka Rainbow Dash was much better with that color scheme, maybe if the pink was a bit more red. Who knows, maybe well see these guys come in later as new cast members. If Hasbro got the copyrights back that is, I think there's a Suprise Wonderbolt though. |

Amethyst > Not bashing your opinions, cuz I would've loved to see them like this too, but I actually like the idea of Fluttershy being a, for lack of a better word, "failed" Pegasus. Plus if Pinkie Pie was a Pegasus, then she'd actually have a good reason for popping out from the top part of the screen. Upon first watching FiM, I enjoyed the shock when I'd see Pinkie come out of fucking no where LOL |

c4tspajams, Pinkie is better like she is, but Surprise makes a bit more sense...I guess thats why Pinkie Pie is better as an earth pony. Because she makes no sense whatsoever. |

Too much pink. I like sky-tone Rainbow Dash. Was Twilight one of the re-names? If so, it turned out great just because it gave rise to the "twilight bridges the separation between day and night" thing from the pilot.
I too like the counter-intuitiveness of Fluttershy being a ground-loving pegasus. I like that her physical nature isn't strictly determining her personality and interests. |

Twilght became Twilight Twinkle until Faust got ahold of her and called her Twilight Sparkle, which has a better ring to it than her "twinkly" counterpart. Plus it's nice her friends call her by just Twilight. |

I think all of them were, but maybe only some had important roles. I know Firefly and Twilight were somewhat important characters. |
