I enjoy fluffy_pone because it has become like an improv game. The key to good improv is to accept what was previously said and done and try to one-up it.
So, we one-upped frustration at accidental death to just getting it over with because they were going to die anyway. That has increased to wonderfuly horrific abuse fics. To counter that, some people threw in an element of loving what so many people were hating. Now, we get stories of love and care for fluffies. And let's not forget the species has evolved on its own. Now, there are ferals with society, medicine, caste systems, even skills of basket weaving (thanks to Frank and Robo). Fluffy_pone as a sub-meme within this fandom is a great thing. It evolves with a spirit of cooperation and perseverance that only this fandom could produce. I enjoy the original intent and enjoy seeing it played out (a lot of my huge Star Wars parody was just that), but it would be a shame if there was no evolution. We wouldn't have Bruno, Martini, No-Name, Frank and Robo, Scootato, or Vodka and his crew; and that would be sad indeed. |

When people complain about a change, it's usually because they dislike the result, not out of an unrealistic hatred of change itself.
For example, a lot of people liked fluffy pony stories when they were more "adorable pet ownership" and less "the Holocaust". |
