For most pegasi, wing flapping is an automatic process. Scoot's still moving them up and down like she's using her hooves. |

Improper lifting causes problems, even for pegasi.
Thanks to her scooter, Scootaloo generates lift at an angle. Thus, when she tries flying like a normal pegasus, her angle is off and she ends up pushing herself down and forward. |

Unfortunately both of Scoot's parents are earth ponies, but her biological father was a pegasus. So she was never give the proper wing training as a little filly. |

Considering Rumble was part of the tornado team training and we actually see him flying. He must be a pretty good flyer for his age.
We can wonder if he'll be able to teach Scoots how to fly. |
