None of those affected me, too exaggerated to take seriously. Fluttershy crying on Hurricane Fluttershy, however, was quite heartbreaking. |

I'm with PVR here, Fluttershy crying in Hurricane Fluttershy was extremely heartbreaking, because it was SERIOUS. She wasn't crying in an exaggerated way about something completely trivial, she broke down over something that genuinely hurts, something so damn easy to relate to that it is very sobering to see take place in a cartoon.
I had to really fight my own tears when I watched that episode, because my brothers were also watching with me, they would've thought I was insane or something. |

First time Pinkie cried like this, she went to happy party time after like 5 seconds. Fluttershy was crying for hours, considering how much water there is. |

Am I horrible for not really caring when Fluttershy cries?
In Hurricane Fluttershy, it was heartbeeaking for the reason Mattatatta explained, it was easy to relate to. But otherwise, she's often extremely sensitive and having her crying or being upset doesn't really give a hard impact. Pinkie Pie on the other hand, when she's crying, it's serious. The scene in Ponyville Confidential was rather comical, but otherwise, Pinkie is the type of person that is never upset. She bounces back easily from Gilda's jerkfest, and doesn't even wear a frown when Twilight spends a whole episode trying to prove she's naive and wrong. We have so far only seen Pinkie cry when it comes to someone criticizing her parties (Putting your hoof down, Ponyville Confidential) or when she doubts that anyone likes them. (Party of one) I would be heartbroken too if I got the feeling that the one thing in my life I love to do and I'm good at is of no value to anyone else. |
