My Little Pony: Feminism is Magic. |
| neoswordmaster #1396704 2 months ago |
Under the accepted definition of feminism which is the belief that women deserve equal rights as men, I would think that most people in our culture would be "feminists". |
| Anonymous #1396705 2 months ago |
Hey, I only came her for the ponies, that's it. |
| DaxRattler #1396709 2 months ago |

| Amethyst #1396711 2 months ago |
No were man children obsessed with a little girls cartoon. |
| MammoH #1396731 2 months ago |
Meh... neutral. |
| Anonymous #1396739 2 months ago |
I prefer equalitist. |
| Arne #1396741 2 months ago |
Maybe... what the do you mean by "feminist"? Because there are two completely different groups that go by that name. |
| Anonymous #1396754 2 months ago |
That is some incredibly broken logic right there. |
| Nightweaver20xx #1396769 2 months ago |
Feminist is an outdated term that comes from the era when women were considered unequal. That era has hopefully passed. At least in developed countries.
So I say no, since the term itself has no meaning anymore. |

~Maybe |
| Anonymous #1396790 2 months ago |
No, bronies are not feminists just because Lauren Faust is one. Bronies are feminists if they believe that men and women should be treated equally regardless of their sex. |
| KWilt #1396792 2 months ago |
I refute your feminist conspiracy, thank you.
But now I've got my eye on you. |
| Fertro #1396813 2 months ago |
That's like saying I'm a feminist because my mother is one. And besides, you can't have equality by focusing on the issues of one of sexes. |
| NightJack #1396821 2 months ago |
I think men and women should be treated equally but I would say I'm a feminist, most people I know personally that call themselves feminist are the crazy one that call a man being polite to a woman a sexist.
Case in point, I will hold a door over for someone to be nice but the people I know that call themselves feminist would get mad at me, I don't care what your sex is I'm being nice to a person. |

*door open |
| doomboy536 #1396837 2 months ago |
I'm a feminist, but not because I watch MLP |
| ProfessorOfHoers #1396851 2 months ago |
Feminism requires belief and acceptance of some very specific notions and theories. I believe in equal respect/rights for all genders. |
| majob #1396854 2 months ago |
Nope. Feminism in today's world means anti-male |
| krazykatboy #1396884 2 months ago |
Seriously, though, no way, that logic's so flawed I can see through its holes... |
| BigMax #1396886 2 months ago |
Bronies watch it for the plot. |
| SilverWind #1396888 2 months ago |
Equal opportunity~ But I do enjoy seeing males in bondage and the idea of role reversal so probally alittle bit of feminism |
| Anonymous #1396898 2 months ago |
There is so much lack of logic in OP, it makes reality cry. |
| Karadros #1396909 2 months ago |
well I'm not a woman-hater... |
| Lurks-no-More #1396972 2 months ago |
Some are. Some aren't.
Really, the *only* thing that's common is that we like colorful cartoon ponies. |
| nyxabuse #1397073 2 months ago |
surely anyone who isn't a contemptible asshat is a feminist?
of course, that doesn't rule out bronies for being antifeminist, there are plenty of shitfuckers in the fandom |
| Takashi_0 #1397085 2 months ago |
^Most of which make their home here and /mlp/. |
| Anonymous #1397100 2 months ago |
Nope, bronies are not feminists.
Actually a lot of them use the excuse ''It's a show for little girls, what did you expect?'' whenever someone tells them that the show is bad, or points a flaw from it. |
| nyxabuse #1397140 2 months ago |
^^oh yeah definitely, ponibooru is one of the worst places on the ponynet
fortunately filters etc |
| Anonymous #1397444 2 months ago |
This is pretty dumb, because the literal definition for feminist is "a person who supports equal rights for women". Extremist feminists- the ones who want women to have superior rights (who're actually a minority) are the stereotypical feminists people think of when the ideology comes up.
The majority of the world are "feminists", and most, if not all, bronies probably are, unless they believe women are "lesser beings" or deserve lesser rights than men. THE MORE YOU KNOW~! |
| bboifatz #1397461 2 months ago |
The kind of feminism that Faust promotes is closer to post-feminism than the traditional bra-burning, man hating variety that are stereotypical of the feminist movement. Post-feminism, in a nutshell states that a woman can do anything she wants just as well as a man can, but that if she prefers doing traditionally feminine things, that's still valid as long as it's her own choice and not because she was denied opportunities based on her sex. Basically, it's a less extreme version of feminism that does not reject femininity.
If Faust was an odschool, hardcore feminist, we would not have characters like Rarity and Fluttershy in the show who embody feminine traits that traditional feminism is often at odds with (Rarity being very conscious about making sure she always looks pretty, and Fluttershy being nurturing and having lots of domestic skills). Oldschool feminism says that women should not pretty themselves up, and that being a happy homemaker is a farce. I have no idea what Faust's exact personal beliefs are, but judging from what she's actually put into the show, I think a lot of people get the wrong idea when they hear "she's a feminist." |

| FeralSocks018 #1397618 2 months ago |
bboifatz is absolutely right, and has won my agreement for this argument. |
| Zancrow #1398233 2 months ago |
Lauren Faust isn't a Feminazi. She just doesn't like overly girly things. |
| ED-SKaR #1399172 2 months ago |
I couldn't resist posting that! But seriously, I'm not feminist, I am equalist (if that is such a word) Men and Women can both be equally awesome and equally horrific. |
| I_Like_Your_Mane #1400848 2 months ago |
bboifatz, feminism has never been about being anti male as it's been so demonized. Way to buy into the mass media anti-hype and the way people try to paint everything in a negative light. Feminism, despite trip ups here and there has been a pretty positive thing the past 50 years. The anti-male aspect is blown out of proportions. |
| semerl #1432181 1 month ago |
Good question. Not me. I don't see feminism as the same as absolute gender equality. |
