As much as I still enjoy his pony drawings more that his humanisations, even for sketches these are stupendous. A little tweaking here and there and adding more detail, and this could easily be in one of my top five favourite humanisations ever. John Joseco always delivers eventually.
@Fronzel There's a difference between offering criticism and dismissing an entire work because of the targets of that criticism. With JJ, the latter is often more common than the former. |

1) Most of the variation in anime-style faces is in the eye size and shape, plus the hair.
2) That's the only extent to which the characters in the actual show have face variety. 3) I never hear anyone complaining about sameface with the show itself. And yet, 4) People rant about it with JJ's art, even though he's actually always varied the eye style slightly and transferred the hair styles exactly. Facking hypocrites. Anyway, these are cool and all, but they almost don't seem like JJ's work, now that I got used to his usual style. Maybe it's because the facial features are more realistically proportioned? I dunno. Also, doesn't Pinkie look a little bit too... normal? Guess I'm used to seeing her with more of an irrationally exuberant look on her face. |
