"The two of us with no risk of collateral damage, versus you, with no love-power to leech off of."

"...Well, shit."

This very scene is a Missed Moment of Awesome.

Indeed.

Unfortunately, neither of them is likely to ever get a crowning moment of awesome. The Worf effect sucks ass. They'll always get their asses kicked and it'll be up to the Mane 6 to save the day with the macguffin- I mean, the Elements of Harmony. Because for plot's sake it'd be too easy to have the two living goddesses beat up the villain of the week.

Although... A battle with Celestia and Luna up against Grogar and his undead legions would be badass as fuck.

@Impious

Yeah, the Worf effect is strong with Celestia and Luna, and that sucks. Just once I would love to see the all powerful princesses just up and destroy whatever evil villain season 3 has.

I happen to know that Worf Effect need not apply after "Nice Job Breaking It, Hero," so we get scenes like Celestia wiping out the want it/need it spell. So if there's some evil Luna inadvertently created, particularly as NMM, then maybe she could be the one to make amends. In as epic a manner as possible.

I'd watch it.

That could be a fun inversion, actually. The Elements are disabled and the Mane 6 are all kidnapped/knocked out of commission, and it's up to Celestia and Luna to save the day.

In a Baytastic way, of course.

I think it'd be interesting if, instead of Celetia being defeated immediately, they'd kept up the battle for a while. As in, Celestia attacks, then tells the mane 6 to go get the Elements while she fights/holds off the threat, in this case case Chrysalis. Just imply that the fight is going on while the the Mane 6 are doing something else, and have Celestia's defeat be delayed until they succeed or are captured. Twilight and her friends (or Shining Armor and Cadence) still get to save the day in the end, but it also establishes Celestia as a force to be reckoned with if she's actively giving them the time they need to prepare.

Just my opinion, if anyone cares.

^Addendum to 307
Celestia doesn't even need to be defeated for it to work. Simply having her occupy the villain long enough to let others blast it with harmony works fine.

What if authors cutted out Luna cause if she was there Chrysalis would not stand a chance?

I'd buy that. She's apparently still adjusting from her isolation and still seems to have her old, dark ages of equestria mindset. If that's the case, she'd more then likely go all out in the fight and probably eradicate Chrysalis.

@430

"Cutted out" doesn't seem to be what what happened there.

Luna seemed to be actually added in those episodes almost at the last minute,hence the lack of actual interaction with the characters.

That would be the actual reason of why she didn't appear to fight Crysallis.
