^Intolerance towards intolerance is not the same thing. That's like saying "Hey, those KKK people are burning a cross and being racist. I sure don't like that."

"Oh, well, you must be intolerant then."

Sorry, but it's not even close to the same thing. Wanting to squash that which seeks to rob others of their dignity, freedom, and right to respect is not the same thing and you know it. Then again, you're a troll anon. So, whatever.

Bigotry is bigotry. No excuse will change that fact so if you want to be retarded and pretend that hate in any form as long as you feel it's "justified" is fine and dandy then you're no better than the people you hate.

And gays do have the same rights as everyone else, the right to marry the opposite sex.

(Personally, I think marriage is nothing than an glorified financial contract)

Of course I am a troll. Because I point your hypocrisy, right?

Tell me, how many times didn't you imply you were smarter than someone else just because he was conservative?

And tell me, how many times did you bash religion, even when religion didn't even had nothing to do with the picture?

You sure are one to talk.

I never said they had to, I just said they had the right to. If you want to be legal butt buddies, then just put each other on your wills and various forms of insurance. Don't fag up an institution with your butthurt.

Let's apply what you just said to a different context.
Cake for example.
You have the right to eat cake. Carrot cake. Without icing
What kind of asshole forces people to eat carrot cake without icing? Are you insane!?

@Anonymous

What we are talking about here is not a matter of opinion or a personal stance on things. You're totally right that I abhor conservatism and Abrahamic religion but I do not seek to limit their rights or freedom of expression. I only seek to disagree.

If people want to hate gays or minorities or anything else that's their right and their problem. What we are talking about here is legislative changes to the law to take away people's rights. It's not even in the same league at all.

I remember before my absence a long and drawn out debate with another user on here; his name was Sigh I believe. I despise his religion yet I find him to be a cool guy. We ended up talking about tea. I never said his religion should be abolished or lose any of it's legal freedoms or tax status and he never said that the government should impose his beliefs on the people.

That is the difference. I hope you can understand the distinction.

I never talked about laws. I am talking about you.

You said: "I'd love to tell them but what could I do? It's unfortunate we live in a world with such hatred and bigotry but all I am not an agent for CPS. It's depressingly sad. I hate this world sometimes."

Like you weren't part of the problem. Because, from what I saw here, you are always bringing your hatred and despisal in every chance you get. Just because you aren't trying to remove freedom, it doesn't mean that you don't hate them. You are part of the problem.

If only we were 10% larger, then we could make marriage 20 percent gayer. If there's an institution which could use a makeover, it's definitely marriage.

@Saint_Braeburn:

I think most people are not afraid of Fluttershy being stereotyped as a lesbian, since to many men she represents an ideal of the perfect happy homemaker.

Fluttershy is one of the most conventionally feminine characters in the entire show, and I'd wager that few people would seriously consider the possibility of her being a lesbian.

Rainbow Dash, on the other hand, has been a target of lesbian stereotypes since the very beginning, and as a result many fans have become very sensitive about that. She's a tomboy with rainbow colored hair, and so a lot of people instantly label her as "the gay one," which is essentially saying that if you're a girl who likes boyish things, or if you are seen anywhere near a rainbow, it means you're gay.

Rainbow Dash being stereotyped as a lesbian has been a source of conflict within the fandom for a very long time, and when people do stuff like this it's basically pouring gas on the flames. No-one cares when Fluttershy gets called gay though, because any such claim is seen as inherently outlandish since she's already about as far from lesbian stereotypes as you can get. Saying Fluttershy is a lesbian gets taken about as seriously as saying Rarity is a lesbian.
sigh

I dunno bboitfatz, I've seen Rarity as a lesbian far too many times for me to accept that no one considers the possibility. Fluttershy and AJ, on the other hand...

(Everyone knows that Pinkie is pansexual, it's like being bi but with more groping!)

^ I'm not saying no-one takes it seriously-- I'm saying that the characters do not have to battle and pre-conceived notions people have about them to be accepted as "straight." People see any of the other mane 6 and just say "aw, what a cute pony," and it's not until you get into the fandom that you find out that all of them are constantly being written into in slash fanfics and drawn in slash art. No-one is going to look at Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie and initially react with "I bet she's a lesbian."

With Rainbow Dash on the other hand, many people's initial reaction when they see her is "lol that's gay," and her fans have had to fight really hard to overcome that pre-conception about her. Whey they see people within the fandom agreeing with the stereotypes that people outside of the fandom have unfairly labeled her with, it shouldn't be surprising that it rustles a lot of people's jimmies.
