^From my understanding they are not allowed to have birthday parties as it's a sign of pride and has it's roots in pagan ritual.
I could be quite wrong but I believe that is the reason. |

Pretty much. Same for a lot of holidays, either they're pagan in origin or they're based off of nationalism. |

I know about birthdays and stuff but I know of some Jehovah's witness that will celebrate and go to partys for stuff like weddings. |

Weddings and just regular parties are fine, just as long as they don't have anything to do with a birthday or holiday. |

That it doesn't. Assuming that this is actually based on a true story then the parents were probably just making a blanket rule to not go to any parties, because you know how easy it is to deceive a kid (or a parent) if you know what you're doing. |

Of course, but I never leave up a chance to do some teaching! Witnesses get a bad rep for a lot of stuff that we don't even do, so if I can get even one person to not be wrong, I'll take the opportunity. |
