I'm conflicted.

I'm not a pet owner nor do I do well around animals, but I do understand that taking care of of a pet, any pet, is an investment in time, money, health, and emotions. Why wouldn't you make sure that your pet has the best start in life?
As for the writing itself, I've often heard the advice of "write what you know". It's one thing to be informed of what happens in puppy/kitten mills and it's another to actually get a glimpse or have firsthand witness to one. I mean, damn that's pretty fucking brutal right up there. It's clear that you know what you're writing about. However, those things are currently happening to fluffy ponies so I say, "FUKKEN OSSIM". |

@729 some people are just inconsiderate and cheap. They'd rather get a cheap, poorly-bred puppy to stroke their own ego or to demonstrate some measure of social status rather than spend the money for a healthy animal.
Some people are probably just ignorant of the conditions in which some of these animals are bred. I could post a few links about puppy mills that have been shut down, but the photos would make you throw up. |

My family gets all our cats from shelters, since we mostly get the (slightly) older ones. Less muss and fuss with older ones. |

It does bring up an interesting question: take a fluffy abuse story, remove all the fluffy's dialogue and replace the word "fluffy" with "puppy" and what do you have? |

@Anubis see the thing with fluffies is... despite their hardheadedness and tendency to do stupid things, they seem to have a modicum of intelligence higher than the average animal. Granted, their ability to speak is at least partially genetically-programmed, but there's a level of intelligence there - sort of like a higher-functioning retard - that seems to indicate they need to be held more responsible for their actions. |

Just a bit of correctio: males are called STALLIONS, not mustangs. Mustang is a kind of horse, not a gender.
Apart from that, it was entertaining. One thing I hate the most is a mare rejecting her foals, just out of dislike. It felt good to see her punished. |

It's not that they dislike them, wild animals reject runts and other babies they don't think will survive. It's how they better ensure the healthy babies will strife. The momma fluffies are following their animal instinct. |

this is true. while they require more care at first, many bad breeders prefer that their animals produce runts because they stay smaller longer and are therefore "cuter" plus they can pull a line of bullshit and say they're "mini's" or "tea cup" or any other adjective in hopes of getting more money for them. |
