| Anonymous #1385773 2 months ago |
Only the weak quit because an episode or two didn't meet their expectations. Loooosers. BRONIES MUST BE STRONG
The way I see it, S2 was no better or worse than S1. It is how it is. |
| optimistic_cynic #1385790 2 months ago |
What lows? |
| Anonymous #1385804 2 months ago |
You are correct, OP.
Although personally I thought season two's lowest point was still better than season one's. The show has overall improved quite a bit. |
| Anonymous #1385807 2 months ago |
I honestly loved both, because they both had plenty of great episodes and awesome moments. |
| Littlecabbit #1385823 2 months ago |
I still think season two kicked season one's butt |
| FeralSocks018 #1385841 2 months ago |
Season 2 had lows? |
| Anonymous #1385845 2 months ago |
Season One wasn't that great, really- it's just that Season Two has been worse in pretty much every conceivable way. |
| sigh #1385850 2 months ago |
@Feral
Mare do Well for one, and for one insane guy on some forums I frequent that won't get over himself and his opinions: Lesson Zero. |
| FeralSocks018 #1385869 2 months ago |
@sigh
Okay, I'll give you Mare Do Well. Kind of uneventful and a weaker lesson than most. |
| Anonymous #1385871 2 months ago |
I'm sorry, low points? Mare Do Well was bad, we all agree it was pretty much the worst episode of the entire show (pretty much by default, but whatever) but it was the one flaw in the pristine diamond that was Season 2. Absolutely every episode other than MDW was amazing, and I will punch you in the dick if you don't agree.
Yes, I thought Family Appreciation Day and Cutie Pox were great. |
| animemetalhead #1385875 2 months ago |
I only re-watched season 1 because my roommate hadn't seen it yet. I rewatch season 2 because the episodes are awesome. 'Nuff said. |
| Anonymous #1385876 2 months ago |
@5845: I'm sorry, speak up. I can't understand you over that mouthful of dick you have. |
| coyotecrow4 #1385882 2 months ago |
Wheat and chaff... That's a brilliant phrase, and I'm now gonna use it! |
| sigh #1385884 2 months ago |
I'd also add the fact that they villianized Dash but that's a whole other can of worms.
And for those who are wondering, basically the guy who doesn't like Lesson Zero is adamant (despite the rest of us practically proving him wrong) that Twilight was acting OOC when she went crazy, and basically for that reason hates the episode. |
| Anonymous #1385897 2 months ago |
What were season ones low points anyway? |
| Narko #1385908 2 months ago |
I love this show. I'm still here. But I swear on my good name, if season 3 doesn't make up for the shit pile that was MOST of season 2, I will sit in my computer chair and SEETHE FOR DAYS... That'll show them... |
| Littlecabbit #1385921 2 months ago |
I thought "look before you sleep" the applebuck season ep and "ticket master" were rather boring personally |
| Anonymous #1385946 2 months ago |
Season 1 had Feeling Pinkie Keen and Over a Barrel, which are still the two lowest points for this show. But season 2 just didn't have the oomph of season 1, esp. the earlier episodes. I wanted to like s2 but I'm afraid I'm done with the show now. |
| sigh #1385964 2 months ago |
Are you sure you're not just looking back on S1 with year-old Nostalgia Goggles? The initial excitement of finding this show and fandom has worn off, and you find what's underneath, which is usually only what you make of it. |
| Saint_Braeburn #1385976 2 months ago |
I till don't see Season 1's appeal.
Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. |
| Anonymous #1386007 2 months ago |
.....hang on, Pinkie Keen was a low point? How does that work?
Though I do agree with Over a Barrel, Look Before You Sleep and Applebuck Season, though I do really like Ticket Master. |
| Anonymous #1386038 2 months ago |
The real low-point of season 1 was "Owl's Well That Ends Well".
I think it is worse than Mare Do Well. |
| Fronzel #1386081 2 months ago |
Season 2 didn't go near the heights of Sonic Rainboom, Party of One, or Best Day Ever.
And "real fan" talk is always moronic. |
| Anonymous #1386084 2 months ago |
^ Way worse...
Season 2 was very enjoyable, but the constant hype kept me from thoroughly enjoying it. |
| Anonymous #1386085 2 months ago |

Eh... OP had a good point at first, but then it went into that weird elitism thing, and we really don't need that. |

Guys who wants to read my opinion about teevee on the internets
next i will talk about video games |
| TheLoneLampman #1386283 2 months ago |
I rewatch S1 episodes and it's still hard to stop any of them before they finish.
I've said it before, any low points in season 2 seem lower because they are surrounded by total awesomeness of the highs. |
| Anonymous #1386321 2 months ago |
I disagree with pretty much everything in the OP and I could explain why.
...if you want. [/fluttershy] |
| Saint_Braeburn #1386333 2 months ago |
Why do people dislike "Pinkie Keen"?
I thought the episode was entertaining and adorable. |
| DeeperMadness #1386355 2 months ago |
Bandwagon or not, people are free to come and go. I miss the Equestria Girls days and the influence of Faust (cultural references are nice, but Lauren tried to avoid them and make the show stand on its own two feet (four hooves?)) but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't having just as much fun with the show.
Don't start saying one fan is greater than another. Not everyone can love everything as much as everyone else. |
| Anonymous #1386367 2 months ago |
Meh, I didn't think its low points were THAT low. |
| TheLoneLampman #1386371 2 months ago |
I wonder if those who have a strong dislike for certain episodes have watched them more than once? |
| Hound #1386575 2 months ago |
I've enjoyed all the episodes. Some are better than others, all are good, in my opinion. As long as they don't produce something on the level of Spock's Brain, I'll be quite happy. |
| fanthrose #1386965 2 months ago |
I am now convinced that i'm apparently the only brony who actually liked the Mare Do Well episode. Maybe it's because i don't hold Dash in the highest regards. I don't hate her, far from it. I just like seeing people with inflated egos get knocked down a few pegs. |
| Anonymous #1387104 2 months ago |
@fanthrose
wow, i thought i was the only one who felt that way |
| Anonymous #1387146 2 months ago |
I like both seasons equally. Granted, there are some episodes I didn't much care for (Call of the Cutie, Owl's well that ends well, and MDW come to mind), but other than that, I'm still very much enjoying the show and the fandom |
| Anonymous #1387212 2 months ago |

| bboifatz #1387308 2 months ago |
I actually liked Mare Do Well, and I would hardly call it the worst episode in the show. Was the moral flawed, and were there logical problems that didn't have answers? Yeah, but at least it had a moral.
If you want a bad episode, I would point to Cutiepox. The moral at the end was completely broken because was the typical Spongebob style "Oh, I learned something, but I'm going to forget it right before the credits roll so that the almighty status quote is preserved" ending, which enough to make me dislike the episode in spite of it having a lot of good moments. A lot of people feel like Rainbow Dash was demonized by the writers in season 2, but what they forget is that Dash has a personality that's an easy source for conflict, and conflict is what makes a story interesting. And, to the writers' credit, we did actually see Dash mature a fair bit over the course of this season. She may have been bratty throughout much of this season, but by the time we reached Hurricane Fluttershy we saw that not only was she mature enough to lead a team effort, but she also ultimately showed compassionate towards Fluttershy when the latter made it clear that she did not want to participate in the tornado. Overall Season 2 was a step up from Season 1, and I feel like the low points weren't really any lower than in Season 1-- the high points were just so much higher, that the low points didn't quite cut it like they did back in Season 1. There's been more character development, the songs are better, the mythology has gotten expanded, they added not one but TWO new villains, and even the animation has gotten better. I think the only real reason why anyone would say Season 2 is not better than season 1 (let alone not as good) is because the excitement of experiencing the show for the first time has worn off, and their overall excitement for the show is wearing off as a result. Pretty much everyone I know who started watching during Season 2 feels that Season 2 is better, and I think that Season 3 could very well be the best season yet. The show is attracting more new fans than it's losing, so obviously they're doing something right. |
| Anonymous #1387316 2 months ago |
The CMC never learn anything. That's sort of the point. |
| John #1387446 2 months ago |
Season 2 is better than Season 1. Just my two cents. |
| jimlahey #1389769 2 months ago |
It looks more like we see who joined after season 1 had ended |

No episode are 'default worst'. That's what some haters create out of thin air thinking that rotating excessive negativity in the midst of a select hyper-analytical, hyper-critical fans is 'default worst'.
Every episode has been very entertaining. And the funny part is, the Owl episode, Pinkie Keen and Mare Do Well were some of the better received episodes outside hyper critical brony sites. |
