What happens with the money? Do I get it? I would like to. It would almost be enough to buy a new engine for my car, which decided to break now that I'm out of the warranty.

$2000 still seems ridiculous for 30 seconds of anything that's like $666.66 per second

@Clopitor
sorry I was just putting 6's and didn't really think about it but $66.66 is still a lot for a second

Ahhh, everyone posts food today. I need to eat.

Also, the question was serious, what is supposed to happen with the money?

@956 The thank-you ad is shown as many times as it can be shown, the rest is donated to a charity.

I think they want to make a commercial showing Hasbro our appreciation for the show or something like that.

Does anybody realize that most of the people who work on the show probably don't actually watch it or the HUB for that matter?
I know it's the thought that counts but...

and did anybody actually read the script for this thing

this is going to be so weird

Just one thank-you ad would be enough.
They can't be thinking of spamming the message.. can they?
CottonTales

@Darp
They do say that they could play it ten times for $12,000
since the donation page says it I guess they may be considering it

Unless a few more million dollars are donated, I don't think it's gonna happen during the superbowl.

@028 The average 30 second adspace for the super bowl is $3.5 million...

That would be awesome, but I doubt we will be able to raise that much. A superbowl ad costs hundreds of thousands, right?

Oh shit it's millions? Definitely won't happen unless Bill Gates becomes a brony.

Autistic fat manchildren expending 12.000 bucks to appear on a kid's TV channel to say "thank you" to those that contributed in making a show for little girls. Heartwarming.

I personally think it'd be better to just play it once, then donate the rest to charity. After it's shown once, it's going to be immortalized on the internet, and anyone important who would see it would see it there.

I agree. Once would be plenty. Then we have the onlines with the youtubes and the downloads and the being posted on the EqDs..

Passionate fans raising 12.000 bucks (and donating the excess) to deliver a "thank you" to skilled writers, animators, and directors that contributed in making a quality show that many enjoy.
Inspiring!

This is fucking retarded. They say it's for the "show" when in reality it's pretty much just an excuse to circlejerk the fandom even more. Bronies have officially surpassed Sonic fans in the retard scale.

They had better just say Pony/fim fans or something like that. If they use the word "Brony", I swear I'm fucking quitting and going on a murderous rampage.

For that money they had better hire a professional writer and public relations person.

They've changed it so that it's not so cringe-worthy. But I'll let you see how it is. The script is towards the bottom. I kinda think that the less people speak, the better.

The script is just fine after the first part.
"Hi, we're bronies."
Scrap that line and I think we might survive this just fine.

Personally, I'm not confident that it won't reflect badly on us as a community for a few reasons. But if it is done well, and if it keeps in mind that they're representing what is safely over 100,000 people, a lot of whom do not agree with the existence of the commercial or its content, then it could work well-enough.

That's a big "if" in my mind though.
