Well, obviously. Everyone knows that "just ignore it" is never meant sincerely, because they people who scream it invade other places in order to harass their targets. And they know that no one falls for it, so they just act like people are obligated to pretend to fall for it. Except they know that nobody does that, so they're just pretending to expect it. Of course, this is all just what happens when you apply logic to something which isn't an attempt at communication to begin with. In fact, it's more like a natural disaster than an action. |

I don't care if get banned for this: Ponibooru is getting slowly to be as bad as 4chan. Ponibooru should have mods with power to ban bad users both for posting bad pictures and/or bad pictures. Filters are not enough since they either block too much or not enough. People have posted stuff or made comments that would merit punishement on others Mlp Fim places like this and they get away with it with no problems. All i'm saying is Ponibooru need to be both cleaned and securised against what is happening.
I won't change my mind about what i said, so BAN me if things remain as there are now. |

MisterS: I'm not going to ban people just for having an opinion, and that includes you as much as the other folks.
Here's how I see things. I created Ponibooru so that people could find fanart - so that, if you saw something pony related, and wanted to find it again, there was this tool where you could search for the art and have a good chance of it being cataloged there. This was especially important because, at the time, a lot of pony fanart was being made in imageboard threads, and only posted there, so when the thread 404'd there was a good chance nobody would ever see the art again. But the thing is, for that to work, it has to catalog everything related to the show and its fandom, to the limits of what is legal for me to host. Taking an editorial position on the matter is to say: "because I am the one who runs this website, I get to decide what counts as pony fanart or not. If I don't like it, it doesn't count." I decided long ago that Ponibooru wouldn't be like that. That I couldn't have an editorial voice (and trust me, if I had decided differently, Ponibooru would be a very different place, and maybe not in ways you like). Which has left us with this paradoxically popular no-man's land. I am okay with you choosing to leave the site behind. I had never intended to preside over a community and am ill-suited for such a position, and if the site's (low) standards don't match your own I can't really fault you for that. If you keep the site in mind as a way to find fanart that you saw once and then lost track of, I consider that success on my part. |
