On the internet, the Parasprite expects the artist to commission for them for free, the craftsman to provide for them out of charity. How little they differ from the pervert who prowls the streets, looking for a victim he can ravish for his grotesque amusement

$250 is actually a bargain, especially considering some sell for triple that on ebay...

Just pay her what she asks or look elsewhere man. I imagine it's insulting to an artist to have their work devalued.

Better yet.
Borrow 25$ from your friend/parents.
Buy the materials for 25$
Make a plushie.
Sell it to some rich basement dweller for 300$
Buy Twilight for 250$
Spend the remaining 25$ on alkohol and get drunk.

It would be faster to earn 250$ with a regular job than to make a plushie, especially if you've never done it before. At least, so I would imagine.

I don't want to defend anon but you guys are ever considered that the cost of making a custom plush is not the same as the selling price?

She isn't going to be less with $250 cause its only the market price if she sells it. the actual cost of a plush can't be more than $30 (just a guess)

Also we don't know how old is he, 250 is a lot if you only have student job.

You also have to factor in how long she worked on it

^Sure it isn't because you have to invest time to make it. The materials itself are probably not that expensive (though more than 30$) but if it's a high quality plushie you'll need at least 24 hours.

In this 24 hours you could've earned a lot more than 250$ with a regular job.

Now, I don't know your work/living situation, so I could be off here, but here are my thoughts. I paid a little over $220-something for my Nightmare Moon plush. If your cousin is making high-quality pony plushes, then it's probably worth it. I'd say try to work a few odd jobs, and if you gt into any money, even a couple bucks, set it aside and don't fall to temptation. I stopped drinking sodas and eating out for two months to supplement the purchase of the plush I got.

I hate to be an ass about this, I really do, but:

If you're not a fan of the show, why are you making creative works based off it? Money alone doesn't justify it. Only fans of the show can put their heart and soul into something like an MLP plush. /2 bits

You know what? Think of it as an investment.
Buy 2 plushies from her for 250$ and then sell one on Ebay for 500.

Find an equivalent service you could provide, particularly if their is something you could make for her (a story, a reall awesome picture (or several), etc) or again birthday/crimbo present

Original poster here:
Huh, so many thoughts. Ok let me clear a few things.
My cousin and I don't live in the same country. She lives in UK, I'm living in ex communist country. I'm at college and 250$ here is 1 month dormitory and food. Half payed by my parents the And I earn the other half with student job. (what is around $5 / hour) I know its not much but i have to finish college to move out of this country.

Also I tried to tell her I pay up the 250 with time, if she send me the pony first. (sounds weird, but i'm family after all)
but no luck with that.

@144 in this case your friend is a greedy Jew and you should feel free to screw her over with the method i posted above.

Or just give up because a twilight plushie is not worth more than 50$ for people with a normal salary.

@2177 tell me about it. She don't even have to put them up on ebay, most of her toys sold before they ready. Also she makes pokemon and various catroon based plushies. She is not really a fan of any of this shows. Actually she like the challenge of making those toys.

Well, if she sells it on ebay, she´d get easily over a thousand dollar for it. I mean, do you guys remember the drawing of Twi which got sold for voer 9000$?

Ask her if she can save one for you aka doesn´t sell it cause you need more time to gather the money.
Then show us your income, your work hours and your study hours. maybe you can get overnight jobs on week-end for an extra payment or you can take over a job at your dormitory to cut your costs there a bit.
You can also try to see where you give out lots of money and try to save some there. For example, if you go out often and gives 10 or 20$ for drinks in a whole party night, maybe better stay home and get to sleep eariler? :)

My best idea is that you get yourself a pot or something with a sticker on it (Goal: 250$). Ofc you should only do that if you got a safe hiding place and everything to make sure it won´t get stolen.
Then always drop in some little money each day, or some big bucks if you ahd decided to eat just bread with some stuff on it for some days and the money food goes right into the Twilight plushy pot.
You could also sell some stuff from your childhood if you don´t need it anymore and there´s not much memory attched to it. Could give some decent bucks as well.

Just some idea with what i know from your situation. Hope it helps.

But if you manage to get your Twi plushy, please post a pic in here with a Thx ponibooru or something, kay?^^
Or just Anon #xxxxxxx. XDDD

Keep an eye on this deviant art group:

http://my-little-plushie.deviantart.com/

$250 for a very high quality plushie really isn't bad though, the White Dove ones are around $400, and some of the cheaper but still noce looking ones can be as low as about $150.
