I try to avoid "best pony" nonsense but I simply cannot comprehend Rarity fandom. Could someone please explain what possible redeeming factors you see in her that apparently I've missed? |

well she's a drama queen, snarky but well-mannered, she runs her own business, a perefectionist when it comes to artistic things (as an artistic minded person I like this), a bit of a neat freak but has been shown to get dirty when she needs to and is in fact more of a brawler despite being a unicorn, all together a good fun character in my opinion...but these are why I like her and can be different for different people |

Also, she really does try to be a GOOD person.
When she wants to do something for someone, she truly goes the extra mile (see Suited For Success). Does she do it because she expects something from them? Hell no. They're her friends, and she's doing what she loves anyway. And when she slips up, she UNDERSTANDS what she's done wrong. In Green Isn't Your Color, she knew from the beginning that she was being jealous and petty. While she couldn't stop that, she could at least hide it, and allow Fluttershy to be happy being famous (or at least, she thought she was happy). Or Sisterhooves Social: Once she realizes just how much she's screwed up, she does whatever is necessary to make up for what she's done. Hell, even in A Dog And Pony Show. The Diamond Dogs KIDNAP her, and when they thought they just wanted her to identify gem caches, she went right ahead and marked a bunch for them. It was only when they tried to enslave her that she lashed out against them. I can really identify with wanting to be a good person, and can truly admire someone with the presence of mind to fix their mistakes. |
