I must say, Applejack has been very out of focus on the whole. Even the episodes about her have more screentime for the other elements than her. Character development has slowed down the most for her. She's mostly just there, like a background pony. |

AJ is the reliable one who has her shit together. You can't improve perfection. Which is also the reason why you have so MUCH character development episodes with Rainbow Dash.

I think it's evident that before Twilight showed up in Ponyville, Applejack was the local leader. She spoke for the five of them in episode 2, telling Twilight they'd stick with her, and all of them accepted it without comment as though they were used to following AJ's lead. Face it folks. AJ is Twilight's "second-in-command" or "Executive Officer." |
