I got inspired by >>180612 to do my own version.
(Also I was bored like you wouldn't believe) |

this works, at least the blueblood explanation. |
| Draconequus #1377446 2 months ago |
Good question.
Where WERE Cadence's parents? |
| Cgeta #1377449 2 months ago |
Mom and Dad could be the God of Chaos and the Goddess of Order.
One of them dissappeared and in order to restore the balance the other one has been imprisoned. |
| Cgeta #1377454 2 months ago |
Mom and Dad of Celestia and Luna I meant. |
| Anonymous #1377463 2 months ago |
Ha ha ha, oh God you believe this? Wow, let me laugh harder. I can't wait for when the show to shit's all over this. There would be *so* much crying. It'll be great. |

@463
Wut? If the show did shit all over this I would be like: "Wow, they explained it? Neat!" 0/10 try harder next time :3 |

@Jack-o-Lantern
Nah, Fausticorn could definitely be their mother. |

The fun thing about having theories is that, even when you are proven wrong, you're still happy to learn more.
Also I think that between Celestia and Luna, and the "top most gods" there are a few additional instances, like other stuff related to physics and stuff. Live/Death could be sub gods of Celestia and Luna though, as Celestia and Luna are not affected by them. |
| Anonymous #1377481 2 months ago |
@ TobiasKazama
That's good, because some people will hold on to their headcanons no matter what, and come up with stupid crap to justify it. Some even hate episodes because it's destroyed a large chunk of the fanon, and others use the fanon to determine if they like a character or hate it with the intensity of a thousand suns. Allot of people hate Pinkie Pie because of "Cupcakes." That's just lame. |
| TobiasKazama #1377482 2 months ago |
@474
Ah, dang ninja. Care to link to whatever got you so excited? I'm curious. |
| FanOfMostEverything #1377493 2 months ago |
@Jack-o-Lantern
I use that. So, technically, everypony is a distant relation on their mother's side. Of course, in one variant of my headcanon, the princesses have no father, Discord is their uncle, and their grandmother is Pinkie Pie. It's complicated. Time travel and card games are involved. |
| TobiasKazama #1377504 2 months ago |
@481
Agreed. I've seen so many fanfic writers who get upset over a new episode messing up their canon - it's just fanfics for heavens sake, no one cares if the canon isn't spot on! |
| Anonymous #1377513 2 months ago |
TobiasKazama@1377482 said: This, this, this, or this. It was probably the third one. Some people just can't accept what's happening in front of them is actually happening, and hate the fact that the show didn't pander to their fanon, so they make up shit that makes no sense. I mean, the show never once said the phrase Alicorn. Not even in the first episode, the narration called Luna a unicorn. And I guess no one actually checks the bios of these characters. It sates that Celestia species is a winged unicorn, and alicorn means just that, bit it a name that the developers came up with so they wouldn't need to say winged unicorns, or horned pegasus or whatever. |

@513
nr 1. Pretty silly, we've seen the girls not take each other seriously at least 2 times before: Pinkie with the parasprites and Twilight with her friendship report. Granted this was a bit more serious. nr 2. Meh, it could be true. nr 3. I'll admit that this is sort of my headcanon as well. But it's true that there is no indications of this in the show, and Twilight actually calls Cadence a unicorn as well: "How many unicorns can spread love where ever they go? I only know of one." nr 4. LOL WUT? |

TobiasKazama@1377504 said: AKA, device heretic in a nutshell. That guy wrote a dissertation on why he didn't like the latest episode. I read the entire thing, and it basically was a giant complaint that his fanfics are now moot. He's a big Celestia fan, so I guess the scene where she was beaten by the power of love, he cried so hard that she was "worfed" or some shit. He's one of those idiots that thought Celestia was a omnipotent goddess. And he's "well known" fanfic writer. He thinks he has a better grasp on the characterization of the cast than the people who work on the show. Oh, and frequently deletes his post when someone doesn't agree and/or points out how he's not making sense. |

I'm all for wacky headcanon, and I actually love it when my headcanon is shat upon. It's better than the show never explaining things at all, right? |

I love Device Heretic's fics, but I've learned a long time ago to stay away from the blog posts of fimfiction (Not just his blogs, all of them!). That is one of the most drama infested zones on the internet. |

Impious@1377549 said: There needs to be more people with your mentality in this fandom. So many people cry about the show "destroying the canon" or something, or actually think that Derpy and the Doctor is an actual thing that's happening on the show. And heaven forbid if you make a fanfic or an art piece where Derpy isn't mouth fucking a muffin, or not a mail mare, or not making Lyra obsessed with humans or hands or some shit. I guess those types of people can't distinguish fanon from canon at all. |

I love DH's work, but he is a real whiny bitch-cunt. He had valid points through and through, but basically "WAAAAAHHHHH MY HEADCANON IS RUUIIIIINNNNEED" all over the place. He is an insecure poopface. And he's a better writer than any of us are. But I can refute the "Celestia is now a weak impotent princess" with "Hera wasn't really known to be a fighter either, and neither were Helios or Dionysus." She's still powerful as unholy fuck, but a thousand years of being lonely, lazy and maybe a bit apathetic, combined with cake and cushy living, have kind of killed her combative instinct. If the season finale took place a good 500 years ago, Celestia would have crucified Chrysalis to the highest tower of Canterlot and forced her to watch as she razed her lands with the fire of the sun. As is, though, she's a wet noodle in a fight. |

Umm, what's wrong with the last comment? It just mentions the story of some fanfic. |

Impious@1377584 said: Well, in a world were friendship is used as a weapon that defeated Nightmare Moon and Discord (two creatures that are more powerful than Celestia), we meet a creature that feeds and powers up with love, a much stronger emotion. Celestia never had a chance. I'm surprised she held out as long as she did. And did you see Chrysalis face? She was just as surprised as anypony else that she won that. I mean, sure, Celestia is powerful, but only like what, as five regular unicorns? (how many did it take to use the rising sun spell?) |

I have to wonder why Changelings have taken so long to appear. They use the most powerful force of nature in their world as a conduit just to feed off of. But Chrysalis seemed like a green "underdog" villain a lot. Her plans were pretty well-made, but she stumbled through a lot of them, and seemed legitimately surprised period whenever something went perfectly right. Really, she would have won if she had had her troops take the Mane 6 somewhere else. But I can't imagine Celestia is that weak. She's lived what, a few hundred lifetimes? A thousand? Even if she's not that powerful, she's had thousands upon thousands of years to learn and perfect the most potent spellwork. I think she lost as a result of not taking Chrysalis as seriously as she should have, and just plain being out of practice. Apparently Equestria was a happy utopia with no enemies for the past few centuries. |

Impious@1377584 said: Not to mention that device heretic couldn't grasp that unicorn ponies have themes with their magic. I mean, it's obvious why Celestia didn't put up a barrier. She can't. All her power is sun/light themed (ever notice that every time Celestia uses her magic, it's always blinding? And Luna can't teleport, but can turn into a miasma). The reason why Twilight can do all sorts of magic is because she is the element of magic. She's like the red mage of the cast. She's really good, but since Shinning's cutie mark is a shield, his name has armor in it, and he's captain of the royal guard, it stands to reason that his theme is shield magic. |
| Impious #1377676 2 months ago |
Maybe she could, but her shield spell wouldn't be nearly as powerful as the one used by a guy pretty much born to do it. Unicorns seem to have "comfort zones" in their magic, and they perfect whatever they're good at and tend to not focus on what gives them trouble. Celestia taught Twilight all of those spells that she knows, so it stands to reason that Celestia is just as knowledgeable and more, but her sun/light based spells are still her comfort zone, and therefore what she tends to use. Twilight's affinity spell seems to be teleporting, what with how easily she does it and how rare a skill it is. I'm sure others can learn and use it, but they'll never do it as easily as she does.
Just my headcanon. Everyone has things they're good at, but that doesn't mean they can't learn. |
| TobiasKazama #1377704 2 months ago |
@Impious
Well in Boast Busters Twilight and Spike seem to hint that most unicorns can "only do a little magic" tied with their talent. And yet, Twilight seems to be learning new spells from books: The only reason for spell books to exist would be if unicorns can actually learn from them. So either A: unicorns can learn spells outside of their talent or B: Twilights "General Magic" cutie mark isn't as rare as we think. |
| Impious #1377713 2 months ago |
I think the writers mean for that to mirror real life. Most people aren't really spectacular at anything, let alone prodigies in one field, while there are others who are practically demigods of talent. Twilight is the equivalent of an Asian exchange student with a rigorous educational background.
If all Unicorns were stupid-powerful and knew a shitton of spells each, err, that would pose problems for Pegasi and Earth ponies. |
| Anonymous #1377724 2 months ago |
TobiasKazama@1377704 said: or C: She can learn any type of magic, their are universal spells that any unicorn can do, and some book cover a certain type of magic ascertaining to cutie marks. I mean, there books in real life that cover certain themes to train people that not everyone can do. |

or maybe Cadence is Celestia's Niece but more like adopted-child-kind-of-thing? I keep thinking Cadence will rule another kingdom (or at least keep an eye on Twilight lol punny) but that still doesn't explain her parents not being around...other than "oh they died". @_@ |
