this kind. I have always been like this, I cringe when people start singing the pokemon songs as well. I usually watch the songs once, just to follow the plot (hurr durr plot), but that is usually it. The show is cheesy on a lovable level, until they start singing to me. I am not saying they are badly written, I just dont like songs in these kind of shows. |

Hell yes it is. |

I never liked songs in cartoons. But I'm grown up now, so I like them :P |
| Anonymous #1377000 2 months ago |
Your loss. |
| Anonymous #1377010 2 months ago |
not really a loss if someone doesn't like it in the first place? |
| Fridge_Logic #1377028 2 months ago |
Yeah, he's got a point. Unless you're actually a fan of show tunes, the songs have to grow on you. And even then, I wouldn't listen to them on my music player or anything. |
| Anonymous #1377029 2 months ago |
You're mistaken, it's an even bigger loss. It's lost on them how big a loss it is. |
| Anonymous #1377035 2 months ago |
Its ok, I skip the theme song to be honest. |
| Anonymous #1377042 2 months ago |
I'm kinda the same, although I like some of the songs in Season 2 (especially Flim and Flam's song). |
| Sonlir #1377071 2 months ago |
The songs never bothered me.
However it seems the way they handed singing in season 1 (mild mocking) is no more and they went more disney with the singing. |
| Cgeta #1377091 2 months ago |
Yeah, most of the songs in season 1 were done by Pinkie. And even some of the other characters complained about them. It was easier to, sort of, accept them. |
| Benno #1377180 2 months ago |
Never skip Call Upon the Sea Ponies though. |
| CottonTales #1377201 2 months ago |
I don't skip the songs I skip the episode around the songs I don't need context for a magical pony singing |
| TheLoneLampman #1377211 2 months ago |
I think I learned every song by (constantly!) listening to fan-music. It's hard not to love 'em at this point, to be honest. Sucks that you don't enjoy it! |
| vonPeterhof #1377247 2 months ago |
I roped my non-brony musician cousin into watching the season finale with me. Every time they started singing he would mute his headphones and wait for them to finish. Except for This Day Aria, that one seemed to get to him. Didn't convert him though.
Oh, and before that he also seems to have enjoyed the Flim Flam Brothers song more than I did, mostly because I was sorta missing season 1's approach to the songs. |
| EricNeoMatrix #1377254 2 months ago |
That makes sense. Many of them are really cheesy, with a couple exceptions. |
| CronoM #1377261 2 months ago |
The songs are great because they put a 1000 times more thought into them they the cheap disney songs of earlier times, with the exception of the few.
I usually skip the intro just because it didn't have the same amount of thought and effort put into it. The intro is hardly even a song, its more like a jingle, marketing the old concept of my little pony the same way some of the dolls do. The rest of the songs are just golden, there is not one song that didn't sound like they put a whole lot of heart and effort into it, and I enjoy it everytime I watch an episode. I see no cheese. |
| Deadmeat #1377358 2 months ago |
Try the songs in the land before time tv series; you'll bludgeon yourself to death with the remote! |
| BigMax #1377385 2 months ago |
I skip the songs too, for the same reason.
And no, the show usually isn't cheesy, and when it is it's in a mocking tone. The problem is that sometimes the songs do tell something about the episode. |
| D_Pony #1377386 2 months ago |
Sometimes being cheesy is part of the charm |
| peony #1377906 2 months ago |
I don't know many songs from start to finish. About half of what I do know are MLP songs.
So no, I don't skip the songs. I positively look forward to them. Potential cheesiness and all. |
| getteremperor3 #1377910 2 months ago |
That seems disrespectful to me. Also, how would you even know the songs are "painfully cheesey" before listening to them? |
| Anoymous #1378819 2 months ago |
To each their own. |
