To be honest, I find it odd how a lot pony fans seem to thinks some fandoms are worse then other, I have said it before, the sonic fandom is called the worst a lot but at lest most of it understand the very thing your talkind about and it's few that hate things outside of itself, but no to some the sonic fandom is even worse then furries. |

There's too many possible reasons to point out just one:
Some furries could be frustrated that their fandom wasn't as globally recognized (not too many furry stories in the newspaper) as ours was. Some furries could see this as a chance to get to be on the bullying end of the stick as opposed to being the bullied. Some furries may truly don't like MLP at all. Just remember that there are furries who embraced MLP as much as we had, and we can't just assume that 'they ALL hate us.' |

As part of both fandoms, I honestly don't know why some furries hate the pony fandom. I'm sure some are against its sudden, massive popularity, much like anything that is popular gets sniped at. But I think there's more to it than that. It could be as simple as not liking the pastel equines, or the fact that a lot of furry sites (like Fur Affinity) now get tons of pony images (one day it was practically a wall of pony art). It's likely not just one or two reasons. We're talking about various people with their own likes, dislikes and possible grudges.
I for one received a few complaints that all my art has been pony stuff and nothing else lately. |

A lot of Fandoms call other Fandoms the worst. Only real level headed people realize that Fandoms are as diverse as any other category. Variation is universal.

Because a small amount of furries are a bunch of insane insecure tossers and the rest of their fandom does not give a fuck if a minority of them makes them look stupid. They accept anyone into their ranks as long as he can draw porn.
Furry fandom used to be somewhat about art and animation untill somewhere into the late nineties. These days it is nothing but porn porn and more porn. It is the cesspool of the social awkward and insane. I known quite a few furries that were decent people in my past 14 years of internet. They aren't all bad. They just have no quality control,no PR department and do not give a fuck about how the public views them. |

Pretty much. Also some furries accept and enjoy but others are all 'rawr' because I think maybe they don't want to be part of a fad that isn't 100% accepting of furries. Though that's probably also the furries that are so blatant with their sexuality you want to take their keyboards away until they learn a thing or two. |

As a furry and a brony, I approve all of the above messages.
Oh, and some of the "haters" actually aren't haters, just trolls: I know one that draws pony dismemberment pics just to "see the ponyfags whine and cry like the bitches they are" (his words) and because "I get a lot of praise from people who think like me" (i.e. other trolls; still his words). Basically, he's an asshole. A friend of mine pointed out to him that his attitude was pretty much despised in the furry forum they both were in as well, and received a wall of insult for an answer. That, of course, got him banned from the forum (the troll, not my friend). Serves him right. Fucker. |

Note that it says "some furries" not "all furries". I know furries who embrace the MLP fandom, and some who don't really care for it but don't hate it. I did not intend to generalize the entire furry fandom, I just wanted to create a discussion on the topic. I just think its strange that some people would be so intolerant when their own fandom has experienced the same thing, as if they hadn't learned from it. The opinions presented here have give me some insight and I hope it does so for other people as well.

The few I've spoken to about it give answers somewhere in the middle of hating ponies because they're drowning out the normal furry porn and hating the fact that it's a fandom centered around animal things that's been given a very free pass compared to the furries. |
