With the life span of both celestia and luna blueblood has to be a long long long old relative of both of them, while candence has a more direct relationship with them. |

And what makes you believe that? Chances are the genes for both horns and wings at the same time are recessive and wouldn't pop up too often. In such a situation Cadance doesn't need to really be any closer related. Overall we have been told none of the Royal sister have had children, Cadance was also visibly younger in the past and seems to have aged at the same rate as everypony else. Theoretically unless she's more inbred then Blueblood she literally cannot be much closer in relation to the Royal Sisters. |

That wasn't the impression I was asking about. I was asking how you got the assumption that Cadance was any closer related. She's not immortal and she ages at the same rate as any pony from all appearances. She cannot be much closer related to the sisters unless an immortal relative of theirs is still around and breeding, something quite unlikely. So logically she has to be about just as many generations removed as Blueblood. |

Lauren Faust once gave an explaination for this. Unortunately, it wasn't a very good explanation and made it sound like Blueblood was actually Celestia's cousin or something. Also, Faust said there was no third sister and neither princess had children. My theory is that at somepoint in her long life, Celestia married and stallion who had a sibling. Celestia's sibling-in-law had children, starting a family line which resulted in Blueblood and/or Cadance. Or it's just an honorary title. I don't know. |

Also, Cadence's line should split at least a generation before the Celestia/Luna tier. Celestia and Luna have no other siblings, But we see that Alicorn Royalty failed their duties for romance in the Pre- Royal sisters era in Hearts and Hooves Day. Also There's the pink pane grouped with the sun and moon windows in the throne-room. |

Blueblood is a normal unicorn but Cadance has wings because alicorn-ness is a genetic trait associated with the XX sex chromosome.

Celestia and Luna never had any other siblings. Likely it was at least one of their parents' sibling's descendants or something like that.
Royal families are notorious for tracing their bloodlines for ridiculously long times, so they could be something like 10th cousins, not even counting the generational gap. |

Okay I'm really confused.
Do you English/Americans call people uncle or aunt only when it is literally true? In practically every other language and culture, those and similar family terms, can be used to refer to people your are not actually related to but very fond of. It seems so strange to me too see everyone going crazy and trying to figure out a literal family connection. |

There needs to be a line with a "?" that connects to Celestia indicating a mate, and a line down from them indicating a child, and then attach Rainbow Dash to that line. |
