i'd say duchess as well. but i think hasbro's issue was that they assumed the targeted demographic wouldn't know what a duchess/duke is or something along the lines of that. it was explained with blueblood. |

These words can be defined in such a way that allows them to be used more widely then you may believe.
By one definition of Prince so long as Blueblood is royal and male he is one. I am sure the same likely goes for Cadance. |

Also, I don't agree that celestia would be a queen. I still assert she kept the princess title to remind people that she splits her duties with Luna, even when Luna was imprisoned on the moon. |

Duke and duchess would carry the implication that Blueblood and Cadence were governing land (even if that's not something that necessarily has to be true, iirc!).
Celestia and Luna are immortal and it doesn't seem like succession is really a thing that happens. Luna wasn't even temporarily replaced during her banishment. Prince and Princess seem more like honorary terms that members of the royal family get just because. Also it's not really clear if the royal family started with Luna and Celestia. RoH makes it sound like they were part of an existing royal family before rising to god-tier status. It's possible they've had a lot of mortal relatives over the centuries. |

Anyway again the big issue here is there's no real succession and Equestria isn't even a proper monarchy or even remotely feudalistic, so the actual titles are sort of meaningless anyway.
What does Celestia even do from a governmental standpoint, anyway? |
