Look just because she's a princess doesn't mean she's rich. Why, there are people who are of royal blood today that live in trailer parks or on the streets. Cadence is living with Shining Armor before marriage.
What if, her family while they are nobles and of Canterlot, can't afford the high taxes, high prices and such to live well. OR!!! What if her daddy was cheap and didn't give her money? |

It's shown that Celestia wants to be treated as an equal by other ponies. Think of alicorns, unicorns, pegasus and earth ponies, all being equal no mather the diferences in numbers and roles. Being humble and dependable to suppousely "lesser" ponies from a young age would teach Cadence to get along with her subjects. |

Isn't it like, you ask some one to babysit your little sister who you know/trust/are friends with? I would guess Shinning Armor has known Cadence his whole life; and why would Cadence refuse? She's nice and cool enough for Twilight not to ignore her and read books instead. =P |
