Yeah, it was a few months back but she made a joke tweet with a semi-provocative (but in no way R34) picture of twilight and everyone on EQD bitched and whined past 2000 comments AND people on that site reported her, REPORTED FUCKING TARA STRONG to Hasbro and wrote them angry emails because of it. It was senseless and disgusting.

It's also been basically proved (though I'm at a loss for links) that alot of the Derpy drama came from there and that most of Yamino's White Knight army were EQD commentors. Someone a long while back matched up their EQD usernames to their DA usernames and Tumblr usernames and was able to find many different cases of EQD regulars fighting Yamino's anti-derpy crusade.

You could say the OP of this thread is butthurt or that I"m butthurt for going through all these old links (though I"m not mad, just bored and eager to provide info) but what upsets me if people's vehement defending of the EQD community despite their countless white knighting and butthurt antics that actually impact our show and the creators/actresses/animators. The people there even pissed off Sibsy at one point believe it or not.

Well stuff like that isn't exactly EQD's fault per se. People on ponychan hated a lot on the episode, too. The problem is that Studio 2 staff actually checks on EQD because they expect people there to be nice and because it's a pretty popular site. This again, is just because it clearly lacks an alternative. Ponibooru and ponychan both have the wrong formats to get really popular. And ponyleaks is just too specialized. I think people at Studio 2 should keep it like Lauren and just stay away from the fans as good as they can. Even if it's hard, especially on DA.

The difference is that here you can pretty much say whatever you want and nobody will stop you. EQD has some kind of moderation/"quality" standarts but they are a bit one sided. Post anything slightly sexual there -> you are a hellspawn that deserves to die. But say "this episode totally sucked" even with the prospect of the creators reading it... yeah go on.

I can't say I have felt oppressed by the WK but when they are able to make large impacts on the fandom such as having a VA's twitter account censored or drive the Show's creators away from the fandom due to Asshole attitudes (I will give them the benefit of the doubt in regards to Derpy) I feel entitled to be a little pissed off, can't say I want to kill anyone yet though but give me some time.

While people on the site can be morally vicious and do tend to get on the prudish side of things, EQD isn't to blame. They've introduced hundreds to the show, given out information that make a typical brony's day, and are probably the social link between the fandom and the show. Say what you want about the users, but with EQD, we wouldn't be as connected to the show. Saying that everyone on EQD tries to take the moral high ground is kinda pushing it. That being said, it wouldn't kill the users on that site to loosen their collars a bit.

If you made a joke in that scenario that would be considered racist and possibly morally reprehensible, however to consider stuff like the following. To be on the same level as racism is beyond stupid imo, you however feel otherwise(HOW?) And it's not that the WK are the majority of the fandom or even EqD, there are enough regs and the Blog Ponies are alright (IMO, I know some peeps are not as happy) It's that they whine the loudest and will email, report and complain till they get their way. Hasbro typically folds like a house of cards when they encounter so much resistance as a stiff breeze and the WK know this; And while the regs do care, you cant very well undo a complaint once it has been made, and it does not take that many to begin with.
