Eh, It could happen. It's on my personal headcannon that while feeding on somepony's love makes Chrysalis nearly invincible, she's pretty pathetic without a love battery attached to her.

Tyrantlestia is pure fanon though, she has NEVER shown herself to be needlessly cruel or oppressive. Mischievous and a bit manipulative? Sure. But she's not a tyrant. Jesus. If anything she's just giving Chrysalis a good scare and will let her go after she's thoroughly soiled herself. Like a bored cat and an unappetizing mouse.

I don't get it. Why some people think that if Celestia was defeated by the power of love that means that nopony loves her? She's not a changeling. She's not empowered by love. How do you even come up with such an idea?

@ John If you get defeatet by the power of love, this means not, that you are not loved by the crowds. It means that you are an deity that is powered by the opposite of love. Celestia is a manipulative mastermind. Even the mass of the brony fanbase believes she is a nice princess. ;) Thats how powerful she is. Even Sauron outsmarted the elves as Anatar the lord of gifts.

For a moment, I remembered the Fireys from the movie Labyrinth, who could detach body parts, particularly their heads. I pictured the changelins in that role, pointing at celestia. "Hey look! Her head don't come off!" "Hey lady! Where you goin' around with a head like that?"

From the background, I would imagine that Princess Celestia made war against Queen Chrysalis, and at the conclusion of the conflict, sadly realizing that Queen Chrysalis would not stop trying to destroy Equestria and there is no other way to end the Changeling threat other then their complete and utter annihlation, used the power of the Sun to literally MELT the entirety of Changeling Realm and destroy all the Changelings and their hives to prevent them from being This is just her at the end regarding her fallen enemy Chrysalis, reduced to a decapitated head frozen in an expression of horror and fear, with as much apathy as a pony would for an ant, over landscape formerly dotted with giant hives and millions of Changelings that had been literally reduced to miles upon miles of glass and magma.
