It does rather annoy me that none of Cteno's fans will even entertain the idea of starting their own imageboard, and feel entitled to leech off of our sites just because Slugbox used to do pony drawings. I don't know if this is a problem outside of Ponibooru, but frankly I am tired of having a separate fandom using our site for something unrelated to ponies. |

^ Her creator drew some Pony artwork a while back, and did some crossover pics with Cteno. Some bronies liked Cteno so much that they insisted on posting her even after Slugbox stopped drawing ponies.
Slugbox's fans don't want to start their own website for his characters, because a lot of them are in denial about Cteno not being an MLP OC. Even though Slugbox himself said she is not related to MLP, his fans keep posting Cteno pictures on our image boards and throw pissy-fits when people tag them with not_pony_related. |

However, if they want to tag it with not_pony_related to have a universal filter tag, then that's just fine. If it helps put them at ease for pony-connected characters to be tagged with not_pony_related, then I say they can do so.
After all it's not an asshat tag like "OP_is_a_faggot" or "wish_fulfillment." It's fair enough for them to tag it as so since the artist has stated the OC is no longer a pony creature. |

the problem with the "not pony related" tag is that is pretty sure that the cteno fans also use it, so using it with cteno pics is unfair to those fans, c'mon, all the cteno pics are tagged "cteno" it's so hard write a 5 letters word? |

@927: And what makes Cteno fans so special that their fandom deserves to be exempt? There are lots of fans of non-pony things on this site who will miss out on things by using the not_pony_related tag filter. If Cteno fans are coming to a Pony site for something not related to ponies, it should be a given that they'll need to turn off the "not_pony_related" filter if they want to see the content they are looking for.
Again, it's simple: Cteno's fans should either accept that Bronies are already being way more accommodating of them them than they have any right to ask for, or they should open up their own image board. |

I for one never liked Cteno, but I tolerated her when it was believed that she was (loosely) connected to MLP. When it came to light that she was not actually an MLP OC however, it was quite understandable that a lot of fans rejected the idea that she should still be treated like a part of MLP even though she's something completely unrelated.
And do you honestly think that the fandom's rejection of Cteno is why their are anti-Brony communities out there? There are anti-brony communities because there are lots of people who can't stand our weirdness, and/or can't stand how ponies are everywhere. When something gets popular "too fast" it's inevitable that it will generate a backlash on the internet. |

Sorry to tell ya this, but Cteno has been around since before FIM... It was the show and fandom that convinced Slubox to début Cteno with her own tumblr. Otherwise, she would of just remained a Pony-Themed slime monster that sat in his art folder. Never having anything to do with MLP:FiM. |
