Hmmm- Twilight and Luna should be switched around, I think. In no way is Luna a better pony than Twilight.
For that matter, Pinkie is the epitome of Chaotic Good. She practically LIVES to brighten the days of others, no matter whether they like her or not. |

I'd switch Nightmare Moon and Chrysalis; the latter has subjects and both a need and a plan to protect them. NMM is just vengeful, not very "lawful" in my opinion. |

Put Pinkie at CG, then put Iron Will in the CN spot. or maybe the pegasus jer squad, since they managed to overcome their animosity, and didn't antagonize anypony except Rainbow (and Fluttershy, a long long time ago). |

Twilight and Luna are fine where they are. Luna is lawful, and she as a ruler she actively tries to improve the lot of her subjects.
Twilight is lawful and a good pony, but she doesn't seem intent on spreading goodness. She leans to goodness, rather then represent it. She lives in a good society and strives to live by it's laws peacefully. She's no crusader. |

Eh, can't fully agree. We've seen Twilight help others over and over again, including Luna who didn't exactly handle herself very maturely at that time. And we've yet to see her "actively try to improve the lot of her subjects". She kept watch against a threat, but so did every single guard. It's their JOB. Twilight and her friends save Equestria by rising to the occasion, despite being librarians, farmers etc.. |

I saw Twilight, Luna, Celestia, and AJ fall into the category of lawful good. Maybe with the exception of Dash, the rest of the main six could fall into neutral good. I see Zecora as lawful neutral and Discord as chaotic neutral. Almost want to classify Chrysalis as neutral. |

Discord is actively sadistic. He's not insane by any means. Chrysalis is also sadistic. Remember how she mocked Twilight in the caves? Not to mention they planned on conquest. They wanted to CONQUER Equestria by force. Changelings gain power from love. It's not about sustenance, it's about POWER. |

I can see Luna as LN, but Twilight does not seem LG to me, honestly.
However, Chrysalis and NightmareMoon should probably trade places, yeah. Also, I don't know about the buffalos being TN, Zecora, the parasprites or even the elder dragons would fit better. |

I agree Discord is not insane, but was looking at him as being a creature of chaos who will do what anything he wants that amuses him without any influence from good or evil. As for Chrysalis, I did not recall her wanting to actually conquer Equestria, so didn't factor it in. |

^ Ooh contrare, above anon. They don't mention it in the show, but before Discord's first imprisonment, he unleashed ALL forms of chaos on Equestria. That includes natural disasters, which have the potential to KILL. It most likely wasn't Discord's intention to actually kill anypony, but it was his intention to unleash all chaos, no matter the consequences.
Also, since he is the spirit of chaos, and he's also technically evil, wouldn't it be only fitting to classify him as chaotic evil, being both chaotic and evil? Hmmmm? |

Not exactly. Being chaotic would just mean having little to no regard for things like law and order. While I don't doubt Discord being able to create natural disasters if he wanted to, I just don't see him doing so unless someone probably made him really mad. I know Celestia mentioned Discord's actions made ponies miserable, but the only pony actually shown being miserable was Twilight and that seemed more like a result from her friends than Discord (even though he caused her friends to act the way they did). |

Can't say for sure, but isn't alignment more about intent than action? Wouldn't that fact push Luna more towards True Neutral, considering her she wants to be a good ruler but is still burdened by her past?
Similar for Twilight Sparkle, her good actions seem to stem more from her being a decent person that is doing the right thing when needed rather than activly going out of her way to cause good. |

Switching Chrysalis and NNM is one of those things you don't ever think of until it's pointed out to you, then it's obvious. *smacks forehead*
In all honesty, I just don't see Twi anywhere on the "Good" axis. That being said, I put Luna as LG because of her obsession with protocol and tradition and her line of: "Screams of delight is what your princess desires." Arguments for LN could be made, though. I choose CN for Pinkie's free spirit, rather than her desire to brighten other's day. In retrospect, CG would have been the better choice. Well, I'll try to work on a new version incorporating your input. |

people forget that too often, or maybe they don't understand what disharmony means, it isn't the same as chaos Harmony: love and agreement with those who care, synonym of peace (in the show it gets used as perfection of friendship) disharmony, as the negation/lack of harmony, means lack of love and agreement being discord the embodiment of disharmony, in words and actions, it's about destroying/corrupting the pre existing harmony so discord is pro-chaos(says nothing about good/evil) AND pro-disharmony(or anti-harmony)(says nothing about order/chaos) summed they are chaotic evil, what discord is |
