easy, for me it's like watching one of the cartoons of cartoonnetwork golden age again |
| Psychopomf #1358059 2 months ago |
Smooth animation in most places
Amusing jokes D'awww character designs And its blisteringly optimistic without being too cheesey, something a lot of disillusioned 20 somethings have seen none of |

it's the love and kindness... a seriously lacking element in adult tv shows.. |
| HotFuzz #1358061 2 months ago |
Yep, I agree with Shintaha here. |
| FeralSocks018 #1358079 2 months ago |
I watch other awesome shows. It's not like ponies are the only damn thing in my life. For example, I fucking love Star Trek: The Next Generation. |
| Anonymous #1358080 2 months ago |
This isn't the only show we watch. We know other shows have better writing and animation and we watch those in addition to this one |
| PowerToole #1358083 2 months ago |
And I watch some of those "thousands of other shows" too. Also, what PonyRIG, Psychopomf and
Anonymous#060 said. |
| Harlequin_Jester #1358086 2 months ago |
This question implies MLP is the only show I watch, I watch and enjoy other shows with competent writing and engaging characters, and I'm sure many other bronies do too. |
| Anonymous #1358088 2 months ago |
It's fundamentally innocent...well that's why I like it anyways |
| PowerToole #1358091 2 months ago |
Breaking Bad anyone? That show is fucking AMAZING! |
| RepentantAnon #1358092 2 months ago |
@TheXIIILightning W.I.T.C.H., Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, A.T.O.M., The Pirates of Dark Water, Oban Star Racers, NASCAR Racers, Diabolik, Spider-Man TAS, X-Men TAS, Iron Man TAS, The Hulk TAS, Jetter Mars, Honeybee Hutch, Rubi Gloom, Galactik Football, Teen Titans, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Batman TAS, and Fantastic Four TAS. :3 |
| Anonymous #1358093 2 months ago |
I think the only show that has had this level of character development, and writing is Firefly. |
| Anonymous #1358094 2 months ago |
I think it's the fact it IS meant for little girls. It turned out to be a stellar show, extremely well made, and the fact it's much better than every other show for little girls, it got the attention and therefore got the fandom. You're pretty fucking stupid if you couldn't figure that our for yourself. |
| Anonymous #1358100 2 months ago |
because I like good cartoons I don't discriminate between what age group or gender they were made for |
| Jack-o-Lantern #1358103 2 months ago |
Why do I like ponies I just don't know?
But what I do know is I like it when ponies go crazy ![]() |
| JulienBrightside #1358105 2 months ago |
Great background music! |
| Anonymous #1358109 2 months ago |
For me personally, it's its very optimistic and idealistic atmosphere and characters, without being too much in your face
After thousands of TV-shows and movies, that tell you how crappy life and other people are and that all end on a damn downer-ending, MLP FIM is actually a really refreshing change of pace |
| PowerToole #1358122 2 months ago |
Oh no! RepentantAnon mentioned some sucky ones! (And some awesome ones too,to be fair)
Also, no Venture Bros? Seriously? No Thundercats either? And alot of anime could be on that list, and no one said we should limit it to animation. Did I mention Breaking Bad? Fuck yeah I did, because it's awesome. Also, House MD, Doctor Who and many others. And we have books and comics and video games too. We are a generation with no excuse to ever be bored... |

Why not? |

Why do I like a show about multicoloured magical horses?
Simple really, it's one of the few things I've watched in many years thats made me feel any real emotion. The people that created it done something right, because they found a chink in the cold steely exterior of my heart and poked it repeatedly in ways very little other media has managed. Thats not to say there aren't plenty of other things I watch. Just very few where I actually look forward to the day they are aired. |

Great animation, tara strong, great characters, tara strong, great voice actors, tara strong, its got a happy upbeat feel in a time when most other shows are gloomy, tara strong, its cute, tara strong, the songs Ingram writes are god tier, I hated it when characters in shows broke out in song and hated it when Pinkie did the first time, now i love it, tara strong, interesting stories, tara strong, a great.....most of the time......great fandom, the amazing fan music, parodies, art, games etc etc etc, tara strong, hmm................did I mention tara strong? |

It's fun and it's cute. Enough for me. |
| JasonTheHuman #1358349 2 months ago |
Kid's shows require creativity to be good. They can't just turn to the same sex and violence that other shows use for attention. |
| Anonymous #1358359 2 months ago |
Because Lauren Faust was too tomboyish for girls shows based on toys for girls and decided to change it for everyone. Besides MLP is not the only thing men love. There's Powerpuff Girls, Madoka Magica, Atomic Betty, Winx Club, etc. But the show has cuteness and also humor, action, adventure, craziness, humor, and non-girly nature like G3. It's not like I only watch that show on the Hub but also Transformers, Men in Black, Dan vs. and Super Hero Squad. Thank you. |
| getteremperor3 #1358382 2 months ago |
One of these days, OP, you're gonna have to how stupid this post is. Target demographic =/= the quality of the show. This show is no different from the myriad of other show you alluded to, except for the fact that a lot more people like it. It's like Star Trek. |
| BorutVash #1358439 2 months ago |

This troll-post raise a good point.
I dunno... Why chocolate taste so good? Why is it so nice to stare at a sunset? Why does it feel so good to pee in a flushing urinal? So many questions dont have an answer. |
| Anonymous #1360382 2 months ago |
I think it's because these ponies exhibit the traits we find desirable in women. |
| -Lunacy #1361577 2 months ago |
I have this picture possibly explaining why but I can't find it. Maybe later. |

| Hakupony #1366762 2 months ago |
Thousands of shows have good character development? I don't think so, good characterizations don't work often because everything usually comes down to the same stereotypes.
In addition, it is very well done on the technical side - you can screencap every second and you got a 80% chance you got yourself an awesome picture. Same thing with voice acting and writing - when other shows deliver their best parts of voice acting or writing, they built up to it. MLP just does awesome stuff by the fly. The question really is legitimate, but the boundaries of gender roles are not nearly as solid as they were ten years ago. If you enjoy a TV show that happens to be made for little girls, then it also is very important what the internet can do. Because of the Internet, we can talk with other bronies and enjoy wonderful fanworks. You clearly are not alone. MLP especially prospers by this possibility because it is very meme-able. Or the tl:dr-version: It doesn't matter if it is for little girls - it is very good. Today, it is much more easy to overcome such social standarts because we think and communicate different. |

Compare what else is on telly and tell me what children shows these days have as much depth. Avatar maybe and...... nothing? |
