I'd like to believe that, in the weaver-verse, Twilight has always planned for Spike to be her backup for when she turns thirty and is still a virgin. Which is why she gets annoyed when he starts talking about Rarity. |

In some episodes, Twilight really does get annoyed when Spike fawns over Rarity. And in the first episode, she got annoyed with Fluttershy fawning over Spike. Probably doesn't mean anything but it was rude of Twilight. |

Well, first episode Twilight was rude to pretty much everybody she met, and there's all kind of weird involved in what is basically her younger brother dating one of her best friends. On the whole though she seems to be at least a little supportive of his efforts, which is something most people tend to ignore I feel.
I's like to clarify though that what I meant about the whole Spike backup plan was simply a statement about the loosely defined universe that is Weaver comics. I don't think canon Twilight is planning that at all. |

I do like how teenager Spike looks here. He has a mix of goofy friendliness and near-swag-like charm.

Weaver's teenage Spike reminds me heavily of beast boy. Then again, Canon Spike's crush on rarity reminds me a lot of BB's crush on Terra in the teen Titans cartoon series. |
