I don't care, Spike have a kiddy crush on Rarity, but Rarity can't return the same feeling for him. That's how the kiddy crushes work. And Sparity isn't canon and never will be, get over with it. I'm not saying I disagree with you, as cute as this ship is it can't work, ever. In pony years Spike might be only just a little bit younger than Rarity, but he's technically still just an infant. He's just a little bit more mature due to his upbringing, and not much. It'd be statutory rape. If anything, I wish Rarity'd stop leading him on and just let him off easy already.
But you really need to work on your social skills. Seriously, there's no reason we can't be civil, and I have yet to see you do anything but call people stupid for having opinions different from your own. |

Mushroom, "shipping" comes from the word "relationship", hence relationshipping. Basically, people shoving two characters into a relationship regardless of whatever. Because, shipping. It's best not to question that logic, because that's the gist of it. |

Rarispike is pretty awesome, moreso than most other pairings, for one good reason - potential drama.
Whereas most other ships mostly revolve around "Oh, they're so cute" to "tee hee, they're rivals, they must be in wuv", ships like Rarispike feature established affection between the two characters while at the same time have some delicious angles for internal conflict and obstacles arising between them and a potential relationship - including but not limited to difference in age, difference in lifespan, differences in physical form, difference in culture, difference in biological traits. Those aren't reasons why it's an impossible pairing, their reasons why it's such a fascinating and intriguing one. Anybody who appreciates a good story salivates over those possibilities. Anybody who doesn't needs to cultivate a better sense of taste. |

AJxBigMac = no canon romance at all TwilightxSpike = no canon romance at all (just mother/sister vibes) FSxBigMac = No canon romance, and barely any direct interaction (I can't recall any actual conversation between them) CheerileexBigMac = canon shutdown of romance in favor of friendship. Possible past romance together that was mutually broken off though, which could lead to future rekindling of romance. RainbowdashxEverypony = no canon romance(maybe wonderbolts on a purely groupie level) CelestiaxDiscord = no canon romance VinylxOctavia = not even canonically in the same episodes BonBonxLyra = barely any canon interaction and canon personalities are one of the most heavily divergent from fanon I've ever seen (I will admit, it's still one of my favorite pairings though) DoctorxDerpy = no canon interaction WhirlyWillowxRoboshi = not even canon characters. SpikexRarity = Spike falls in love with Rarity from episode one, is seen doing various tasks for Rarity and wearing his crush on his sleeve(or the front of his shirt) at all times, and by Secret of my Excess, it is made obvious that Rarity knows of and at least accepts his feelings even if it is made unclear if she returns any romantic feelings. Sorry, I know it's trolling, but I've been wanting to get this all out of my system for a while, and this presents a decent opportunity. SpikexRarity is if anything the single MOST canon relationship other than Mr.CakexMrs.Cake and ShiningArmorxCadance. It's also one of the, as Diamond Tiara would put it, "juiciest' relationships even without the fanon, since you have so many angles that make it a semi-taboo relationship, and Spike's love is flying in the face of all of that: He's only a baby dragon (yet his expressions of love range from childish to incredibly mature and self sacrificing) he's also the "little brother" of one of Rarity's best friends (don't even try to say that couldn't or wouldn't get awkward) and he's also a completely different species that likely has a different lifespan and whose future growth could put him on an entirely different size bracket (even best case scenario would have rarity die of old age before spike grows past pony size that makes physical compatibility dangerous) and should be a predator/prey relationship. All of this adds up to a huge deal for Rarity to consider, and that's on top of the fact that this whole thing MIGHT actually be a simple fleeting puppy love deal on Spike's part, or even that he's only instinctively drawn to her due to her connection to gems. Further complicating issues is Rarity's social climbing, upon which the success of her business and livelihood depends, which could be put in dire straits if she had a public relationship with Spike (especially considering how judgmental Canterlot's "elite" have been shown to be) All of these reasons add up to this romance being one of the most complex and interesting relationships depicted in almost ANY show, certainly a heck of a lot more than any romance depicted within the series itself, as its success would be an even greater depiction of "Love conquers all" than ShiningArmorxCadence at the climax of season 2's end. Yet I don't see any anons bitching about how lyraxbonbon sucks or that crap. But go ahead, anon, keep fighting it. It's everything that is against their relationship that makes it that much more fun to cheer for them. You're only fueling the fanbase's determination. |

There used to be this guy in ponychan called Manley T. Mcdragonpuncher. He claimed he hated Spike and Rarity ship and created lots of threads about it or derailed other threads about his hate of it. In his attempts to do so (and because he uses troll logic), fans and even non-fans of the ship end up defending the pairing against him turning threads into a pro-Sparity thread or at least an anti-Manley thread. The opinions that you posted about this pairing are opinions I would have never known of if the top anon never decided to post his hate of the pairing. |

Although I can only think of one pop-culture pairing that's similar to this, Anakin and Padme, and citing one of the worst-portrayed relationships in film history really doesn't do much to help my case... |
