It's an odd, perverse thing when you think about it. I think the original intentions around the character were 'They're all female" and giving one of them genitals to, well, you've seen the art.
A lot of the porn made of Futashy isn't actually by the originator of this and (s)he generally does a pretty daww Ask tumblr (askfutashy.tumblr.com). The hermaphroditism acts more as a comedy device than for raging transgender bestiality of the one character that wouldn't ever do such things. I guess it's an irony thing. Note; This is tagged Futashy as, while not showing her as futa, the original line art was from the Futashy tumblr. This is just as much a cute image of Fluttershy or any other subversions of canon |

^ I guess it kinda makes general sense, but it still is incomprehensible to me. I mean, it just does not seem that funny or cute to me. I am a guy, which might factor into it or something, but generally it just looks to me like "The Japanese thought it would be neat to stick dicks on random things, lets do it to a character from a western cartoon because HAR HAR GENITALS ARE FUNNEH". Just seems very, well, not to be offensive or anything, stupid. Very lowbrow to me, like a Japanese version of those "you might be a redneck" jokes except with 9000% more dicks.
