Also, I'm bound to have this flung back at me by someone, but I have a scientific reason for making up words! It's called INVENTING. I make new shit appear that's unnamed, and name it appropriately to match it's function. I, however, do not make up words for things that do not lack names like some people. |

Having taken organic chemistry, I can confirm "cisgendered" is a cheap play on "transgendered".

Dr_Robotnik, "cis-" means "on this side" or "on the same side" as opposed to "trans-" for "on the other side". To my knowledge, "cis-" is most often seen in chemical names, usually to describe where hydrogen atoms are on double bonds between carbon atoms. This usage happens to be where the term "trans-fatty acid" comes from. |
