I'd place Nightmare Moon a little lower and Discord at the very top just below the Elements. He's an Elder God, he can alter reality itself with a claw snap. |

I think Discord should go above Windigoes. They just made things colder while Discord juggled the celestial bodies around on his whim and performed all sorts of matter transmutation effortlessly among other things. He could probably do everything the Windigoes ever did in an instant while at the same time turning the snow into icecream.
Sidenote: Why do people forget that he made cola storms? Also, somehow I don't believe Cadance is all that powerful on her own... |

Jack, Luna and Nightmare Moon may share the same body, but they aren't the same entity. Just like with Yami and Yugi. One is more powerful and they both have completely different personalities. |

Cadence's power seems very specific and limited. As it should be. Like others have said, Discord should be top tier. If he had actually wanted to, he could have snapped his fingers and ripped the elements off the necks of the mane six (as it was, he just playfully dragged them through the air) or made them disappear. Again. He's on the level of only losing due to Thanos-like psychological fear-of-winning engineer-my-own-destruction type PIS. |

I've been thinking that, as beings themselves (non-agumented), it's Discord, Celestia, Luna, Twilight. We never really got a chance to see Twi vs Chrysalis: Twi got blindsided when her guard was down.
Plus, I think Power of Love + Chrysalis should about equal Celestia. Celly hardly struggled, while Chryllie went all out; Celestia was holding out, because there were still mortal ponies in the room: that's the only reason she lost, instead of going full Atomic Flare on some sexy insectoid ass. |

@060: Then Starswirl shouldn't even be on the list. We know he CREATED a lot of spells, but we don't know that he himself was able to USE even one of them, or the limit of his power with them if he could. |

Twilight's got more potential than any unicorn, including Starswirl.
And, considering that the show seems to refer to the spells cast by alicorns as 'unicorn magic', that'd also put Twilight higher than Cadance. |

^ I agree with removing Starswirl.
Twilight has gained a LOT of power since she moved to Ponyville and started grinding XP on monsters. She was able to create a Bubble of Normality in Discord's Chaos, after all. She also felt confident that she could take Cerberus in a one-on-one fight; and I believe her! Twilight could have probably destroyed non-powered Chrysalis with barely any effort. Hell, I'm not sure she'd lose to Celestia at this point. |
