Considering that pretty much nothing happen, I don't see what the problem is. It's not like Trixie was homeless or anything, and shit like this happens all the time. It's not like anypony died.
And what would they have done to Snips 'n Snails? Aren't they too young to be charged? I bet they're moms grounded them or had them working to pay off the very minimal damage. |
| Anonymous #1349770 2 months ago |
And if Trixie wasn't a liar and none of that would've happened. |

Magicians are liars by trade though. Yeah she's an insufferable cunt, but she was just doing her job. For FREE I might add. And keep in mind it was Twilight's friends that started that shit by heckling her. And it's an entertainer's right AND prerogative to humiliate hecklers.
Not saying she isn't a stuck-up arrogant bitch, but putting all of the blame on her wouldn't be fair. |

Romanticizing? I just got done saying she's an insufferable cunt. But losing your mobile home and most of your belongings is a bit of a high price to pay just for being a jerk, compared to getting a slap on the wrist for luring a cosmic horror's offspring into town. |

Anonymous@1349812 said: She was touring. Who said that she lives in that thing? Magicians don't live in tour buses, you know. |

We never see Trixie, we just hear about her "big secret" in a newspaper column. For all we know it could be anything from just reporting on what we already know -her being a fraud- or the knowledge that she's now a heroin addict selling her body out for drug money. It was as vague as could possibly be. |
| Anonymous #1349847 2 months ago |
Trixie didn't suffer any repercussions from the townfolk either, though. The wagon was just an accident, and noone did any worse than call her an unpleasant loudmoth. I'm sure somepony would've helped her if she hadn't been too embarassed to stick around. |
| Anonymous #1349850 2 months ago |
Impious@1349826 said: Home? Who the fuck said that was her home? I guess by your logic, comedians live in their tour buses. Again, you're trying to make a mountain out of a hill. This isn't an melodramatic anime. |

I'm not saying she isn't an obnoxious bitch, I'm saying that it's going too far to call her pure evil and completely deserving of having her property destroyed for what little she did. If Twilight's friends had just kept their mouths shut nothing would have happened, and I guarantee that Trixie would be and even more sympathetic character. And I'm pretty sure she DID live in that thing, she was throwing around some major gypsy vibes. |

Okay. Tell us all how you would punish them, kids, for doing something stupid, remembering that: 1) In their imagination, they truly believed Trixie could beat the Ursa. 2) Nobody told them (to be fair, they didn't have the chance) that bringing an Ursa would be dangerous. Remember that they thought Trixie would beat it in just a beat, they didn't consider she could fail. Consider also that they said they were sorry for what they done. In front of the whole town, no less. And you and me knows they were being sincere about it. If this isn't enough for you, how would you punish them? |

875, thinking something is true is no excuse for doing stupid and destructive things because of those assumptions. It was a bear the size of town hall, how retarded must you be to think no significant damage could result of luring one into town. Really the best punishhment is to simply forbid them from living city limits period, and them only allowed out of their homes at all under strict observation by multiple authorities. |

Of course it was the Everfree, are there any other confirmed forests around Ponyville? The "Anything you can do I can do better" also came as a response to her hecklers, she didn't goad anyone, she just decided to shut them up as soon as they made a spectacle of themselves. And you're also guessing she doesn't live there when it's the equivalent of a traveling gypsie's wagon. You are grasping at straws, we stop when you do, and stop being insulting about it. |

Rude Anon. 960 That's been my point the whole time. Trixie didn't start anything, she overheard Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash badmouthing her act and called them out on it basically with the words "If you can do better, come up here and prove it" and proceeded to humiliate them. Disproportionate retribution? I don't think so. Go to a fair and heckle a performer and see what happens. Yes, she's a complete bitch. But she didn't instigate jack shit. Everyone else legitimately enjoyed her show, if anything the lesson "sometimes you should just keep your damn mouth shut" should have also been touched on. |

Because the antagonist isn't always a chaotic evil complete monster? I mean, Iron Will was an antagonist and he was hardly an evil monster, he was just a guy with a not-so-effective-for-Fluttershy confidence-building workshop. |
| 441 #1350098 2 months ago |
@Impious Since fucking WHEN was Iron Will supposed to be the antagonist?
Wasn't the joke sorta how he's big, forceful and mean looking but is actually a reasonable business man? Sorta like "Thought he was the bad guy? HA! Fooled ya!" |
| Anonymous #1350099 2 months ago |
Impious@1350061 said: I bet in someones head canon he is, and if you disagree with him, this shit (points to thread) happens. People either demonize the hero and make the villains as the real (but still bitchy) victim, while others just go overboard with it either way. It's complete biased. They started out not liking/loving a character, so they make every other one worse to romanticizes/demonize them instead of just watching the show and accepting that what's happening is actually happening. They also seem to forget that this show's for the younger audience, and try to make up shit that holds no real bearings on anything, but will fight to the death for their ideology no matter what. It's stupid. |

Impious@1350190 said: It wasn't bad advice, she just took it to far on her own. She made her own problem. Iron Will may have been the starting point, but Fluttershy did everything else herself. | Impious #1350249 2 months ago |
Yeah. Haven't you ever seen a "cop show"? There's always one guy higher up on the squad that doesn't like how the main character(s) do/does things, and thus works against them or just causes problems for them. They still might help them out every now and then, since they ARE on the same team, and they'll use the life-debt (saving the main character's life) as an excuse to say "See? My way of doing things is the right way." That's just one example. Never mind Rude Anon's retarded black and white morality, not all antagonists are bad guys, and not all "bad guys" are Hitleresque levels of evil. |

They all look into the mirror, and their reflections start doing things that they shouldn't. Later, one by one, the mane six get attacked. You know what's happening, but the fanfic never out right tells you who it is, or what they're doing. It's all in the readers imagination, and most of the time, the reader can come up with something that would scare themselves more than if the writer just explained it. It's a pretty short one, too. Character were quite IC, the deaths were actually rather well explained, even if some felt a bit to "easy". And have to say some got way worse than others, and parts of the story I found to be a bit odd and somewhat OOC. But overall, it was rather good. One of the better horror stories I've read at least. Although, it still kinda rise the question how their mirror selves would get any credibility, seeing how they moved stiffly, and apparently couldn't speak. I guess that's up to the reader though. Personally been trying to find a good grimdark/horror/death fic with a happy ending. But sadly it's allot harder to write for people. Especially to make it good... that, and apparently necromancy, demonology and destruction magic is far more common practice in Equestria than healing, creating and resurrection magic. |

You can do what you want as long as your friends allow it. If someone takes your cab ride? Beat them up and get away with it. And so on and on. |

Punishments in Equestria are generally very light, if they exist at all, with the exception of Luna, but I have my on little theory on that one and why it makes sense. Trixie made her own bed when she claimed to have defeated an Ursa Major. Rainbow Dash, AppleJack, and Rarity's reactions were kind of rude, but understandable. However, Trixe's method of dealing with the heckling could be considered a physical attack. I'm pretty sure that would be the equivalent of a performer chucking rotten tomatoes at hecklers in their audience, and if you take away the cartoon physics, there was a very real possibility that Applejack and Rainbow Dash could have been seriously injured.
Overall, I think the episode was very entertaining, but Snips and Snails bug the everliving crap out of me for existing. They're just so boring and stupid. Boring stupid is the worst kind of stupid. I do hope to see more of Trixie in the future though. She's very promising as a minor antagonist. You can very quickly go from hating her guts to feeling sorry for her. That allows for a lot of complex storytelling. I more appropriate joke moral for the episode could be, "Endangering innocent lives to reveal someone as a fraud is completely justifiable." But the writer was fortunately smart enough to realize he couldn't have any of the Mane Six do that without making them look like complete assholes. Thus, Snips and Snails... |
