I feel tempted to say Chrysalis is Lawful Evil. Changeling society seemed to follow some kind of hierarchy, and the Queen had quite a complex plan that would be impossible to follow without a system to take advantage of. |

I'd say that Nightmare Moon was more Neutral Evil. Think about it; despite being a princess, she wasn't really focused on ruling or conquering. Her main goal was to make the night last forever, and get rid of anyone who threatened to change that. |

Nothing chaotic about Chrysalis, she's a queen and have a very intricate plan. She has nothing in common with Discord (the eye color thing is pretty much fabrication, too). |

Nightmare Moon was Chaotic Evil. Wanting to stop the natural order of the sun and moon is chaotic.
Discord is Chaotic Neutral. He didn't care if he did good or evil. He just did chaos, and to the very structured ponies it was evil. Chrysalis is True Motherly Neutral. Her actions aren't defined by a code of order, or a desire to break a code of order, or benevolance, or destruction. She just wants to feed her brood. |
