Spike getting wings would be cool, but it would break the combo.
I mean, Spike I didn't have wings, but then was also still very young. Spike III, however, was over 100 and didn't have wings. kind of a combo here. |

@ Dragon. Wat. Spike was over 100? Where the hell did you get that information? Spike has only ever grown, not aged. It's possible it's an age thing and not a size thing. |

^Lium - Gen 3 Spike (the one in the middle):
Gen 1 Spike was a baby dragon and a bit of a doofus. There was no Gen 2 Spike. Gen 3 Spike was a wise-cracking, fussy old codger who treated the ponies like they were his daughters. Gen 4 Spike is back to being a kid, although with a lot of Gen 3's snark left in him. |

G3 Spike was actually a thousand year old dragon despite being small. He lived in a library and the ponies always came to him when they needed his advice. |
