Is everyone going to freak the fuck out when they show Fluttershy's and Rainbow's families? How do you people not grasp the concept of Slice of Life style show?
It's not like the introduction of characters who supposedly had a huge impact in the life of the Mane Six without any kind of foreshadowing beforehand and having an episode centering around them hasn't been done before. We didn't see Rarity's parents until the episode where they were necessary as a plot device to show that Sweetie Belle doesn't live with her sister after all, so taking care of her for one week was a big deal. It's not lazy writing, since they weren't necessary. Pinkie's mentioned her sisters once, Sweetie Belle wasn't even Rarity's sister until 5 episodes after her debut, and RD and FS's family is currently left in the dark. I hope no one cry's when they show that AJ's parents aren't dead and come back. |

I think people are angry because the reveal that Shining was Twilight's BBBFF showed them that Twilight wasn't really alone like a lot of people thought. For all of season one it was about Twilight's friendship lessons, which she needed because she had no friends as a filly. I know having a brother and a friend are two different things but you gotta admit, for as important as Twilight says Shining Armor is to her he certainly came out of left field |
