Good question. We know for sure Star Swirl's records were from the Pre-Classical Era. There are two explanations for Luna's familiarity with him.
1) Either he or Luna lived long enough to have knew each other in person(most likely Luna due to her being an Alicorn) 2) Luna saw drawings of him. |

Rainbow Dash did not create the first sonic rainboom. The technique was based on a "legend" she proved true that day as a filly. Aside from that, headcanon loved and tolerated as is the due process. |

Canterlot was confirmed to be founded by unicorns, and the Gala was from its first party. I guess that means pony traditions survive for thousands of years. Now where shall I put it instead... |
