Some notes:
  • Discord upload spike in April 2011. Hmmm...
  • Sir Lintsalot, Madame LeFlour, Mulia Mild, Gustave le Grand, and some others have no explicit images. Internet, I am disappoint. Rule 34.
  • Blossomforth almost nothing but explicit :-)

Other noteworthy things:
* The pet spike after May the best pet win
* The Luna spike after Luna eclipsed
* The Sweetie Belle after Sisterhooves social

If it wasn't already clear, the vertical lines on the charts are the release dates of new episodes.

Poor Scoots.
The lack of Applejack disturbs me.
And Chrysalis got the most favs per picture. She really shouldn't try to take over Equestria but just BE on PB.

If you excuse me now I'll have to see what the 15 Nicholas Cage pictures are.

I'm blown away! What program do you use to make the graphics, Donitz? I'm especially interested in the association star thingy at the end. I mean... a two-dimensional color-coded matrix would probably be easier to read, but it wouldn't even look half as awesome.

@picard: The graphs were all made in Excel. The data was gathered using a .NET crawler I wrote specifically for ponibooru (and took several days to gather) and the association map was created in Flash, or flashdevelop to be exact.

Anyone who knows what caused the explicit spike of July 2011?

I wonder why Pinkie Pie is so unpopular.

my internal clock is too backwards for me to even remember when july is, but if i were to make a guess i would say it was the introduction of blossomforth, cloudchaser, and flitter. considering they were all introduced at the same time and they kind of monopolize the explicit category.

Not very likely since July 2011 was during the time between season 1 and 2, which is the main reason I'm curious, most of the other spikes are either not as noticeable or takes place after a specific episode.
