Was it too much to ask for a well made American imagining of a foreign movie?

I just realized how contradictory that sentense was.

If Spike becomes THAT big, sex is definitely out of the question.

It's wasn't that bad, I mean it IS bad but there are worse, it's biggest problem is it's NOT Godzilla.

I wanna see a movie where an Ultraman fights Godzilla.

@Gundlach
You must have missed the episode about Spike's birthday.

Anon 923, that abomination has NO place in the Godzilla franchise. Only his son is worthy of being called Godzilla. And let's not forget, suitmation is far better than CGI crap.

I've seen way worse movies. Like the Twilight movies, The Happening, etc, etc.

The cgi wasn't all that great. Many shots with the monster were actually animatronic.

I just hate the movie for two reasons. One reason is the film's logic that is to say NO logic. The second reason is that it is disrespectful to fans of the franchise. If you're gonna call your movie Godzilla you'd better damn well make sure it is about GODZILLA. I don't care if the director hated Godzilla, he should have known there are Godzilla fans who care very deeply about the film and for him to treat Godzilla, a creature who was a symbol of nuclear destruction, as a complete and utter joke is just unforgivable. I know there are people who disagree with me on this but let me just say Michael Bay's Transformers movies were far better because at least they used the basic plot outline from their source material instead of doing something completely different. If you want to watch a modern day take on Godzilla that shines new light on the source material, WATCH GODZILLA, MOTHRA, KING GHIDORAH: GIANT MONSTERS ALL-OUT ATTACK. You know what's really sad? The latest IDW comic Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters has more respect for the franchise than that hack Roland Emmerich.
